- What I like most about “Whale of a Birthday” is that SpongeBob gave Pearl everything she wanted for her birthday and saved the day in the process. Cause Mr. Krabs clearly didn’t give a damn about his daughter on her birthday. - The spatula episode made me feel sad for SpongeBob. - The Wishing Well episode is another good one. Mainly because people’s wishes were coming true and because of the Santa Clause joke.

RIP Pat Morita (1932-2005) He voiced Master Udon a con artist and the owner of Condo Island in the episode “Karate Island.” Although Pat Morita voiced Master Udon, for the most part, the line "I am Master Udon" was provided by Tom Kenny. Kenny also provides Udon's screams and grunts during his fight against Sandy.

Although this episode was copyrighted in 2006, Pat Morita completed almost all of Udon's dialogue before his death. The dedication card at 17:47 says it all.

Actually it is homage to Bruce Lee from the Game of Death, which is who the "Bride" from Kill Bill was based on in regards to her outfit. As the story in Game of Death was Lee's character climbing a tower to defeat the enemies on each new floor within(which is where this episodes story came from). One of which was basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was a student of Lee's at the time, and the fight is crazy to watch due to the insane height difference.

Karate Island was a pretty inventive and cool episode. Even Master Udon was voiced by Pat Morita, the same man who played Mr. Miyagi in the Karate Kid movies. That could not be any more fitting for that episode. 😅

The dedication to Pat Morita card at 17:47 is nice. It's such a shame the dedication card at the end was removed in American television airings after the Best Day Ever marathon. Thankful the dedication card is left intact in most international airings and all DVD releases.

I know SpongeBob may have bought way too many things for Pearl, but to pearl’s defense, she really deserves 16 years worth of presents that her dad never gave her all because he cared way more about his money than his own daughter. That’s why I find it sweet that SpongeBob has made her 16th birthday the best birthday 😆 Also I agree about Pearl’s friends, the fact that they made fun of her at school until Pearl ended up crying was just messed up. Actual friends don’t do that.

Krabs survived. Miraculously. Bob wished for his salvation literally “One second before.” Krabs was so frightened by this incident that he was even afraid to use this well to get more money - but agreed to sell it to our company. With the help of wish, we moved the well to us, where we study it to this day.

The problem is further aggravated by the fact that Krabs is a meanie of the "Aggressive Plyushkin" level. And since Pearl almost never had the things she dreamed of, and that others, including her "friends", constantly bragged about... it's no wonder she's so obsessed with it.

She kinda deserved the stuff on her list considering Krabs ruined her previous birthdays with his penny-pinching. She probably would've settled for a cheaper alternative, provided it's the good kind because, at the very least, it would've meant her dad actually stretched his budget for her, but he couldn't even do that. It'd be safe to say if he didn't give Spongebob his credit card, his relationship with Pearl would've been ruined forever: it's one thing ruining a 16th birthday, but to ruin 16 birthdays in a row? That kind of pain lasts.

There was an interesting story with this Le Spatula - or rather a lawsuit. That was a lot of fun! You see, Le Spatula treated Bob very rudely, and actually abandoned him. However, Bob still had the contract in hand. Since Le Spatula is an AI, it cannot be “buyed” or “owned” - it was precisely a contract, specifically to work at the Krusty Krab. And Le Spatula, by his actions, violated this agreement, and also showed inappropriate and extremely rude behavior, for which additional fines are imposed. The violation itself led to a decision to terminate the contract and pay the injured party in full, plus correctional work - on the recommendation of our lawyer, it was decided to send Le Spatula to Chum Bucket for two weeks. The story became even more fun when it turned out that the seller slightly increased the price by betting on Bob's naivety. This in itself invalidated the contract, but it did not negate the order for corrections and payments, since Le Spatula was not aware of this fraud at the time the contract was entered into. In general, Bob received his funds, and Le Spatula ended up in the Chum Bucket for two weeks, with the goal of “Cure of snobbery.”

Mr. Krabs may have been overly selfish in "Whale of a Birthday" (not even remembering that it was his stepdaughter's birthday), but at least Pearl finally got a great birthday. I'll also say that Boys Who Cry are definitely better than most contemporary groups such as One Direction. "Karate Island" was soso. Even though the real estate scam was kind of funny, it has major continuity problems with previous episodes. First off, why would Sandy say that her karate's better than SpongeBob's when we've seen before that they are evenly matched? She also says that she taught him everything he knows about karate, which is odd considering that he apparently knew karate before he even met her. However, we do at least have a special guest star, which is Pat Morita (AKA Arnold Takahashi from Happy Days, Mr. Miyagi in the first four Karate Kid films, Captain Sam Pak from M*A*S*H, the Emperor in Disney's Mulan from 1998, and more) as Master Udon. "All That Glitters" was mostly dull. SpongeBob cries too much in it, and Le Spatula was too mean-spirited. "Wishing You Well" is funny, but it has a major plothole... if SpongeBob is working at the bottom of a wishing well, then who is cooking the food?
