Sometimes, strict discipline and punishment can be useful. That's sometimes how you truly learn. Yes, the cop felt like he targeted Squidward, but he probably did it to other people in the town. There is a saying my father once told me before he passed away: "Who can't hear, will feel." Oh boy. I also remember that these two episodes here bring out the worst moments from both Spongebob and Patrick. One in each episode. Spongebob still blaming Gary after being saved, Patrick not sharing at all. This could also be my least favorite batch of episodes from the show. Out of all the episodes in this batch, I only enjoyed the stingy competition episode. And it's also saying something. And yes, there are even worse episodes out there from this show.

I was never really a fan of the episode A Pal for Gary but now that I'm older it makes me even more mad. Like, if SpongeBob at least learned that Gary enjoyed being alone at the house, then I might tolerate everything else but he just blames Gary for defending himself and being uncomfortable with that creature being in the house! Also doesn't help that like Gary I also love having the house to myself and get annoyed when people make me feel like a bad guy for not really wanting company 100 of the time. Oh, and don't even get me started on "Yours, Mine and Mine" I hate when people use the concept of "sharing" just to get stuff out of you!

If I had written and did A pal of Gary I would've had Spongebob start believing Gary about Fluffy Wuffy being a dangerous creature and sees him being eaten by Fluffy, and he tries to get Fluffy to let Gary go and Fluffy refuses and continues to crush him causing Gary more pain, then Spongebob furious uses his karate skills n gear to defeat Fluffy but gets captured himself but thanks to him Gary got free and uses his cowboy skills free Spongebob and together both of them defeat Fluffy who runs away and Spongebob apologizes to Gary for not believing him and Spongebob leaves to work the next day knowing Gary is okay by himself.
