That happened to me IN QUALIES. Baring in mind I am absolutely woeful, took 3 attempts to qualify for champs on a Friday/Saturday night. I was 2-2, last game is all the hope i have and it goes ET 5-5. Evo TOTW Boniface being my MVP with all 5 from him. They get a red card and I cruise 10-5 in the first half of ET. On the tenth goal, they do the dodgy thing where a blue 2nd player comes on (idk whether that swaps out teams) and they DC. Usually, I still get the win but I was kicked off of UT, log back on and I lost, missing out on qualies.

The account glitch is you have to make sure you back out of ut completly! I had it when i tried to play the old gen, i had to back out on the new gen first. Hope its helps!

Cheating not hacking. How did he make your game crash? There's probably a game crash that he can trigger in a way that gives him the win. Oh actually, probably a crash with the multiplayer services he can trigger. Tells me he might have server access. Which would explain why turning off crossplay means nothing as from a matchmaking point of view that setting is just like a filter, and if he has server access he can turn that off and force you into a crossplay game.
