That looked fun. Hartlepool is evidently a parkrun worthy of a pilgrimage: sometime after April. I envied the start. If you cannot kick-off extremely fast down here in Southampton you find yourself in a dense shuffling crowd for the first kilometre. Keep up the good work.

HUGE congrats on the PB Chris, you should have been doing cartwheels on the grass with that PB! Just the small matter of having no energy left I suspect haha. Gonna watch out for a non windy day and defo give that course a go. Hopefully I will be in shape to aim for a sub 26 again. Been a very very long time coming haha. Wow, well done on your times. I think sometimes having someone to challenge you like that in a race can make a big difference. In the last HM I did I had a guy who would not let me get ahead of him -- he'd match my pace every time I tried to get ahead. We both pushed each other in those final miles. Fortunately I did break him but for about 1.5 miles we were spurring each other on. Looks like a cool course - what I wouldn't give to run at sea level again (I live at 4300 feet). Have a HM this weekend, so we'll see if I have a repeat performance this coming weekend. Love the video you got and the voice over describing your race -- just a really nicely produced video. Congrats to both of you.

Every time I go there for a PB attempt, it turn out gale force😂 Brilliant run in those conditions. First & second were club mates, low 18s usually for Michael so a tough ask to stick with him.👍

I did that one earlier last year and the weather was one of the worst not a chance of a PB. Get it on a dry calm day I would imagine it has PB potential

well done chris and kayliegh PB👋👋 what would you say is the best park runs just to start doing mainly flat ones i did the saltwell park one in december but i struggled with the banks , thanks great stuff

Thanks Dave 🙌🏻 much appreciated! It really depends on the terrain you like and you’ll be hard pressed to find any that don’t have some kind of tiny incline, but I’d suggest Riverside (flat apart from a little bump at the end of each lap), Town Moor (flat but avoid in the wind as it’s very exposed), Leazes (pretty, you don’t really notice the elevation), Darlington (one, sharp little hill). Some of the best ones we think are the more trail focused courses though, where you run a bit slower but have lots of nice scenery, such as Rising Sun! Good luck with your Parkrun journey - keep us posted on how you get on 😃
