Usually sheepherders despised predators due to their long term conflicts of nature vs domestic. Them being cool enough to appreciate the snowy families as part of the ecosystems is highly commendable. Hope there's no natives that are pro-poachers.

I witnessed a snow leopard right before me, in Afghanistan. I can still recall being 14 years old at the time. It was a year of heavy snowfall, and due to the excessive snow in the mountains, they perhaps couldn't find enough food. As a result, they descended into the village and managed to get into a flock of sheep through a roof window. Regrettably, the villagers had to use a gun to shoot one of them. It was a heartbreaking incident, but it illustrates how people in that region rely on domestic animals for their survival.
