Appreciate you girls addressing the Whitney comments. The idea is that it can be perceived as a microagression when you refer to a Black Woman as "scary". This language can perpetuate negative stereotypes that society is already quick to throw at BW. Something to consider as you have Black female viewers.. on a global stage where social context matters (i.e. US). Impact>Intention

I don't think it's possible to be too sensitive when talking about black people. Words like "scary" have been used as microaggressions for a long time. WHEN TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT, I understand why people were upset, especially because Whitney is so loved by all viewers. BUT WITH CONTEXT, it makes absolutely no sense to attack Anna and Mandi. They've also referred to Abi as "scary" and nobody batted an eye. "Scary" is clearly a word in their everyday vocabulary and isn't racially motivated. This is why I really hope that Anna and Mandi reconsider their choice of no longer talking about LI, because there will always be people who take what they say and try to spin it out of context. But real fans of this show understand where they are coming from, and know that it's not malicious in any way. I don't think it's fair to punish true fans for the ridiculous actions of trolls.

There's an added element to calling a Black woman "scary" that triggered so many people. It's a very real stereotype that Black women have to deal with and that leads to our being harshly treated and even manifests in things like the maternal mortality rate being 4 times higher for us than other races. Whitney was not forgiven for a facial expression but the rac!st British public forgave Sammy for being vile to women and making the majority of them cry all season. I'm not saying I agree with the hate you got, but these things don't just happen in a vacuum. You need to be more mindful of these social issues on your platform. Even if you don't mean it, because of the society we're in, some of the words you choose can cause harm. Very sorry you received so much hate. Personally, I got what you meant but I can see how people took it poorly.

If you compare Whitney’s calm tone compared to Ella’s screaming in the Clip Whitney was not giving scary or aggressive.
