actually, the reason mommy long legs' death was changed was to portray her spider qualities! the way her body went limp after her abdomen was crushed was a reference to how a spider's main internal organs are located in the abdomen, thus they die immediately if it is crushed. that's why she died that way!!

Yeah their "hearts" are located in their abdomen, and they dont have muscles, their legs are moved via pressure changes in their blood vessles, kinda like 8 boners erecting in sequence (i appolgise for that image but its the closest analogy i could think of lmao). This is why when you see a dead spider, its legs are curled upwards. So it makes sense that her abdomen getting crushed makes her go limp

Actually, the way Mommy was initially intended to be defeated was actually by the furnace. She was supposed to get locked in my the player and melt to death.
