Cricket was really great that time. The teams, the players and most important of all the commentators and their commentary makes these videos priceless to watch.

Jason Gillespie.. one of the best bowlers ever and underrated in that great Australian team. Always a pleasure to see him succeed. Unfortunate that he was dropped at the first sign of a dip in form.

The pure joy and happiness of Gillie when Glenn got his half century was so good to see. To enjoy your team mates success as much as your own says alot about him. Great memories

Yes. Against Bangladesh. Probably this is the only century of a player who came to bat as a Night Watchman.

@@naimulIslam503 Bro, actually there were others too. Mark Boucher did it twice, S. Kirmani did it for India and Tony Mann for Australia. Nasim ul Ghani did it the first time in history for Pakistan back in '62. Gillespie's was the highest ever score by a night watchman though.

Those days cricket was really enthralling and amazing..we really enjoyed cricket that time. These days too much of cricket show off has killed the generosity in the game. Sad the golden era has passed.

Although we have had good players since there is a missing element of excitement today. It’s never reached the same peak for me, and that includes all the teams.

Jason G, the only player (In memory) never to play for his country after scoring a double ton. Sad & Heart breaking. This bitter truth always gets me😔
@TheALIMARS5 жыл бұрын
Cheryl Abellar yep. He scored his 200 in Bangladesh then was dropped from the team. It would probably also the highest score by a night-watchmen....
@sankalp46735 жыл бұрын
TBH, players get selected on the basis of their primary job. In Gillespie's case, it was obviously bowling. He had done well with the ball in the Bangladesh series and the first class season prior to that but had struggled before that in the 2005 Ashes and his bowling was on an overall decline.
@duncanweller10485 жыл бұрын
Brad Hodge got dropped from the Aussie Team after scoring a double ton. I believe the reason was he was filling a batting spot due to injury to a star.
