Life... I had this picture in my head of a long strip of EKG paper with the distinct markings showing how our heartbeats look on paper. The thing that stands out to me in all of this is that the path of a strong, healthy heartbeat is both spiked up and down. These spikes continue as long as life is extended, both ascending and descending...over and over. These marks are not soft and rolling representations of a beating heart, but sharp, jagged, and abrupt. The life we all share is filled with these quick changes... even though we oft times complain that our lives are filled with nothingness or boredom. Our lives move with sudden swiftness from pain and fear to elation and then somewhere completely new and strange. The only sure thing about it is that as long as our hearts bounce along from high to low, we are alive and aware of the world around us. It's only when the line on the paper stays straight and true is our life here finished (but... hey... I don't think the story really dies). So, what's all of it mean... the EKG spikes... joy, pain, fear, love, anger, compassion, tears... and more...? It means that all of the lines that show our beating hearts are somehow all intertwined. Whether we live exciting lives and have the opportunities to tell stories or slog through our days, taking care of kids, patching holes in the roof, and just barely making it... we're in this thing together. It means that we all have the chance to share stories. Some of us have chances to vlog, some of us write, and others sit at the dinner table with friends and family and tell stories to younger ones about what the world was like and talk about the hope to come. We are all part of this journey. Story telling is in each one of us. What we get by taking some time and watching vlogs is an example of someone else who has taken the time and effort to put a stamp on the world. We have the chance to do the same... in our own ways. We vlog, we sing, we write, we cook, we sit around the fire and talk about what's deep within us... So, despite the fact that we can sometimes think this is just entertainment... it's more... because if we relate to the message... it's really us! And the message is to get out there and be a part of the great spinning wheel of life. It's all yours... so get out there and just share. There... That about sums it up. Kid... you've done yourself and your family proud. Now, it's time to get out there and reach some others out there. I'll keep watching... sharing... and ya know... if you ever want a quiet table to just have a hot cup of coffee and an engaging evening... You know where to find me. Keep on keepin' on!

I was blind for 4 months due to diabetes and i thought in my life i would not get it back and when i got my vision back (thank god) i quickly went back online and binge watched your vlogs and got caught up and started to tear up for tears of joy for your cancer being gone and also the timing was really crazy how your situation and mine were almost the same, Your perseverance and determination really made an impact with my outlook on life itself.
