We cruised on Anthem last November and a hurricane canceled our entire itinerary which was Port Canaveral, Nassau and Coco Cay. We had two sea days added to the cruise and went to Labadee and Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. Royal credited us back $600 for the change of plans. The extra sea days were well worth it and we didn't want to go to Florida anyway. Also we were able to see Labadee for the first time which is a beautiful natural island.

Heard about the Engine problem on Anthem from La Vida Loca Tony. Hope it wasn't your cruise but at least the Diamond concierge made it right by changing your cabin. Yay!

From what we heard, the engine problem lasted for over 3 weeks, so 3 different cruise sailings had the same problem. Just meant cruising at a bit of a slower pace and skipping Port Canaveral.

@@thecruisingsisters I usually stay onboard for Port Canaveral anyway. Don't feel like taking a taxi to go somewhere.

I highly recommend adding the South West and North of England to your travels. You will find the friendliest people and a taste of the real England. Many people who come here never leave London and it's such a shame because London is nothing like the rest of England.

@@simmer484 thanks for the advice. I'm only there for a week, but I will be spending two days in Sheffield as well as London. Also have a couple of bus tours outside the city lined up.

I'm English and I hate yorkshire puddings lol. My top favourite foods if you're interested: -Bury black pudding with a bit of mustard -Melted brie (from any good farm shop you can find in most places) with streaky bacon and fig and walnut bread with butter (I get mine from pipers farm) -Benedicts chocolate mints -Roast chicken dinner with homemade stuffing from a genuinely good pub - always check reviews, better yet, my mum but you can't borrow her -Dairymilk chocolate (your chocolate sucks) -Eggs benedict (done properly - usually at a well reviewed restaurant or pub)

Yes, we did go with the guaranteed balcony, because there was a big difference in price when we booked.
