Ellie, you have such a great dad. I love how he helps you girls whenever he can. I thought the kitchen demo was going to be tough, but this roof project tops them all. You two girls rock! Not too many women would take on such a huge project. I also love all the little treasures you found up in the attic. I think the last box was Christmas ornaments. They looked vintage and would look beautiful on your Christmas tree. I'm glad you hired professional help on the roof. After all, there is a limit, right!

The chimney just seemed to crumble. Glad you guys took it apart before it fell apart and potentially caused damage or hurt somebody. Also glad you guys are having professionals help with the roof, that is not something I would want to do.

Great work, lots of success for that project to both of you! When I bought my house, I dreamt about installing a really big window in the roof in the attic to put an astronomical telescope up there. It would had to be a window to push to the side, which would have been expensive, so in the end, I did not do it. But it's definetly a way to dive deep into the space and nature, something, which might connect to your love of exploring things. You might think about it, it's a great use for an attic to have your own space observation room. BTW, your region of Germany has comparable low light emissions, which would be helpful.

I'm so proud of you and Ellie, hard working determined and brave! I've installed timber shingles, and they can be a bu$$er, but once you commence it'll will be lots easier. Just a tip: Timber shingles are biodegradable = even composted. As for Asphalt Shingle Roofing, the shingles may be cheap and easy to instal,, but absolutely terrible for insulation, and dreadful for the environment because they contain fiberglass which, over time, will become airborne fibres.that can cause harm if people breathe them in. Just take care, OK? Leave the guys to do much of the work. Also, you should put up a safety rig or wear a harness lest you slip and fall off the roof. Be warm, cozy and happy. It’s amazing how the roofing people fly over the roof like it’s not the scariest thing ever haha There is no real system to strap you in on the roof, but that’s why we move really slow and careful
