We paid bought a quality European one for my mum (almost $500, except less again on special), but it was $48 annual fee (for service & admin). She only had it 1.5yrs before she died. I still have it, but left sitting idle. It was to be worn in the shower, had GPS location, could talk 2-way, had a fall alarm, etc. It was excellent peace of mind for me, especially since she had so many emergencies in that time, and did actually use it.

Questions: Does this only make a sound when "armed"? Can each door/window be set for the Home mode? (sadly higher concern over elder parent leaving than someone breaking in) Can more than one phone be set up for it? (like what happens if you are out of town and Ashley is there and it goes off.) The Wyze cam is excellent for front and back door, but alarm help that meets needs would be great.

Best burglars ever !! But Dave, you didn't need to spend all that $$ on a security system. Remember that bear snooping around your house a few videos back? Just hire it to sleep on your front porch at night. They will work for honey and salmon. Of course, you will probably make enough Benjamins off your new invention, you can hire private (non bear) security.

Yes Dave we have had our house broken into a couple of times before (years ago) and it was not fun. I felt VERY violated. We have had a security system in place ever since then. Your system sounds great and much less expensive than the one we have. I love your cute little burglars. Much love.

I wouldn't mind having burglars if they were as cute as your two! Having someone break into your house is the most unsettling thing think I've experienced. They only got away with my laptop and jewelry box that had nothing of monetary value in it, but it still got to me and it took awhile to feel back to normal again. Wish I had your system back then! I'm not sure I could install it in my apartment because they are sticklers about stuff, but will have to look into it. Thank you for creating something ordinary folks living from paycheck to paycheck might be able to afford. Wish their were more businesses out there who were like that.

This reminds me of the story about the lady and the flood. When the authorities came in a bus tried to evacuate her, she said that God would protect her. When they came back later in a boat because the water was lapping at the top step of her porch, she turned them away again saying God would protect her. When they came back a third time in a helicopter because she was standing on her roof, she once again said God would protect her. When she finally spoke to God in the hereafter, she asked him why he didn’t protect her. He replied, “I sent a bus, a boat, and a helicopter. What more was I supposed to do?”

Watch the original video...was basically because what the guy stole was not officially on the market yet so the camera did not have a "value" per se so they let him go because the value of the item did not meet the threshold of a felon burglary.

I've never had anything stolen from my house or a car. But one of my old neighbors had stuff stolen from their open garage while they were gone running an errand. The whole neighborhood learned a lesson after that. Make sure that your garage door is shut all the way before leaving.

It's a commercial for Wyze. My Dad loves his Wyze cams. They are superior to latest Arlo Pros. We all need security because not everyone follows the Golden Rule. Locks, lights, thoughtful landscaping, dogs, and security systems are good deterrents. Yet, some people bent on evil will not be deterred. That's when we need good laws and excellent police personnel. Laws that can be enforced so that the innocent are not victimized at will. Wonder if there is a dollar value set for residential burglary where you're at. Burglary is the act of entry with an intent to commit the crime. Theft is either petty or grand. The laws where you're at let criminals know that as long as they keep their theft under a certain value, they can have at it. At least the police on duty were willing to meet up and hand you what was left of your property.

Couple questions about the security system. 1. Does this count toward a discount on my home insurance if being monitored? Do you provide verification of the monitoring? 2. If there is an accidental trip of the alarm, which always happens with new users, can I shut off the alarm activation myself? 3. Can you set the system so it allows you to delay activation of the alarm when entering your home on all doors or a select one? These are questions that most home security systems should provide. ADT will increase your bill yearly too. Then you call to fix it because you have a three year contract just to learn that they can do it per contract. Our bill went from $65 to $100+. And the system had problems at least 3 times a year. You have to pay extra if they have to send someone to fix it. I don’t recommend ADT! I really hope this one is a better option.
