Probably the only relgion that was originally almost a race was Judaism. If I'm wrong explain, I'm not Jewish. You can almost only be born Jewish, even if you do not practise or disbelieve. In Christianity anyone can be "born again". Doesn't make you British or English. Being Muslim is not fundementally British, certainy not Scots, Irish, English or Welsh. Even if that were forced, it would never be accepted till the last Pagan died.

All humans share 99.9 percent the same DNA. So infact there's really only one race. The human race. In reality we are all born atheists. The religious programming comes after birth. Luckily for me, I live in a country where I was taught Christianity alongside science and facts, so I could judge for myself, if I believed in a god or not. Unfortunately, many people are not born into societies, where they can question their religions. Religion is not a race. It's a pre fabricated set of ideas and rules imposed on people by previous generations.

It seems to me that in the order of the natural world, a man or womans, first priority of survival is to protect themselves, then their children. Many do this one in reverse, protect children, then themselves. That protection may be from other humans or animals .Next you protect your exrended family, your neighbourhood, region then your Country. Protecting your Country may be a way of best protecting your family. If aliens attacked from outer space humans would probably rally together to protect themselves from them, despite any differences. This is tribalism, Darwinism if you like, or survival of the fittest. Christianity and Islams tribalism exists in their sects. Judaism has its sects too but to some extent centuries of persecution sort of draws them closer together imho. Diversity, that horrible overused phrase, has always existed, but the clash of culture is not a strength it is a weakness. FORCING cultures to live together does not work, there needs to be a more natural assimilation and accomodation. The human condition is far more primeaval that the elites would lead us to believe. @rsqyoung Agree completely. I'm a non-believer, but I tolerate most religions. There is, of course, one religion I dislike (dislike does not equal a phobia lol!) It's the one that can't be questioned, and as an atheist, I wouldn't fair well in the long run! I long for the day, humanity works together to better the whole species and planet, but I'm not nieve, and being a liberal pacifist will not protect my freedoms nor those of my decendands.

In non-muslim majority countries they use the term "islamophobia" ... Personally I use the term anti-muslim bigotery when a muslim faces discrimination or violence due to being a muslim

We should be able to critique any religion, any ideology, any idea. I agree discrimination based on those, unless they are unlawful is wrong, but simply expressing an opinion should never not be allowed. Any belief that cannot stand up to criticism is a weak one.
