This was another good exploration. Thanks for sharing Dave. Now I see another post here I agree with totally about weapons. A subject I also have in mind. I won’t ask you if you do or don’t that is none of my buisness. In my own life, military and civilian I have interacted with violent people. You seem to be a very nice person. I am writing this without knowing anything about you. If you do not carry a weapon on these trips you need to. You are in bear wolf and cougar country. The more dangerous is man. I recommend at least a ten mm auto pistol with four magazines. Don’t use hollow point for bear defense. You need a solid core round. For penetration through fur and muscle. Ask at your sporting weapon store. Learn how to use it well. Get a good holster and mag pouch. Wear them especially when away from your vehicle. You can conceal the weapon with a shirt etc. I know you have coms so a cell phone hopefully with good connection. Also have a first aid bag. You can find good information on the net for necessary content. Maybe you already have that and I hope so. If possible keep your vehicle in sight when on foot. I am not trying to get in your business. I would always respect your choice either way about these matters. I have seen and experienced hard things from peoples actions. Be prepared to legally defend yourself if necessary. So if you do not carry a weapon please consider doing so. If you already do good, please excuse the above rambling. Best wishes sent. 🇺🇸

Should have brought Pins & Atlas for backup ! Lived in Arizona between 1973& 1993 , always need to carry a firearm out in the sticks , better to have one and never need it , don't place yourself at someone else's mercy , at least you'll feel safer from man or beast ! No matter were you went you were never alone , someone was watching !

One time in Northern Arizona I was turkey hunting driving up a dirt road passed by a car going opposite direction , I pulled over about a mile up the over looking a canyon walked across dirt road into the woods hear a car coming turned to look and it was those same 3 guys they parked next to my car got out looking all up and down the canyon obviously for me and emptied their semi auto handguns , never saw me behind a tree 30' away , if they shot my car I was going to shoot theirs and it would be on , unfortunately I only had a single shot but they hopped in their car and sped off , that was over 30 years ago and it still bothers me !

Just a coincidence. Someone may have filed on that claim in the past. If it were active you would have found paperwork for it with names and dates. Anyone can buy those active claims signs and put them up just to keep people away.

That seems to be a common occurance, mining claims with signs, but no active claims. But, then the fools on KZbin seem to think everything on public land is private property, lol.

You must not be from the U.S. Lol. This is forestry land on an inactive mining claim. Even if it was active, you can still go on the land as it's PUBLIC land. Get educated, do your research and you won't look like a fool.
