Have also noticed, especially in recent months, Shane's speech is clearer and he has more vocal stamina when speaking. Was a time when Hannah did most of the talking and he'd defer to her. His voice was weaker and he'd easily fatigue if speaking for any length of time. Good to see such improvement. 😊

I too have a lemon tree and get too many to use. Take a juicer out and freeze 1 cup of juice and place in freezer bags flat in the freezer. Come summer you'll be able to make the BEST lemonade! The kids in my neighborhood will actually come to my house asking if I have any lemonade. Welcome to California

Lemon Tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet…it’s a song, look it up and you can sing it to your tree Shane! I think it would enjoy being regularly admired and sung too! 💛 Your house looks homey! I love what you’ve done with the place so far! You do have really tasteful pieces you’ve selected so far! The entertainment console is gorgeous and that pink couch is supreme! The 2nd couch pairs well comfort wise! Loving your bed is a high priority! That Fridge/Freezer is a great investment! ooo a flip probably cut corners.. on that door check if the hinges are flush, or if the door is slightly too wide for the space.. if you push it closed check on both sides of the door to see where its hitting. hard to tell. been eons since I had that kind of door.. maybe check the pins if they are sitting correctly. at the top n bottom.. or just remove it.. we put shower curtains or curtains over some closets. ahh adulting.. an extra drawer in he freezer is awesome. house looks great. next you'll discover the GOOD boxes lol.

Laundry door was ment for smaller machines from back in the day. What I found out with ours is just shift the upper door sliding bar forwars towards you, there is space once you move the bit of frame thats there.

"I sleep in the sink"...same, Shane. Same. I moved from a cold climate (MA) to a warm climate (AZ, "warm" might be underselling it) about 3 years ago, was absolutely worth it! Enjoy your lovely new home! Adding - I worked for Wayfair (who also own AllModern) back in the early 10's when I was fresh out of school. Can get some great stuff there, it's where my couch and loveseat are from.

I read the other comment about the bifold doors and hinge placement. Problems we have had with bifold doors have had nothing to do with the location of the hinge between the panels; instead our problems have been with adjusting the spring in the track at the opening edge (left end for your door to laundry). Usually an adjustment is possible here. I cannot advise farther, because there is not enough information and the assemblies differ. If there is too much spring pressure, the door will not close flat or will not stay closed. Oddly, though, there must be some spring pressure, though, to make the door stay flat when you close it. We got lucky in our previous house that had three sets of very tall, very heavy double bi-fold door sets, because there was an installation label stuck onto the back side of one door. After reading it, we were able to fix the set of doors where one side had begun to sag and the mounting hardware needed to be reinstalled at the frame (removing that panel pair is how we found the label) and adjust them to work properly, adjust a second set of doors so they worked perfectly, and adjust the third set of doors so that they worked most of the time.

Your house is similar floorplan as mine! Typical LA design. I'm so glad you got a great house. We have a fireplace but we have to crank up the air conditioning to light it. Yes! You need a lemon tree. Watch for aphids and scale. Make frozen lemonade while the season is here. half cup lemon juice and one cup sugar. Put it in a plastic container and freeze for when you want lemonade. Dump the container in the pitcher and fill with water. If too tart, add sugar, if too sweet get more lemon juice. Also make lemon ice cubes to use for fish or other dishes. Have you felt any of the little earthquakes we've had lately?

Re: the door to your laundry not closing - I think it’s because the hinges holding the two sides of the door together are installed incorrectly. This is the case with almost all of the bifold doors in my house (of which there are many) except for one. Basically, the two sides of the hinges should be screwed to the inside edges of the two doors, with the pin part at the back. So, when the door is closed, you see no part of the hinges, but when you open the door, you can see the hinges. The way a lot of people incorrectly install hinges on bifold doors is to screw the two sides of the hinges to the backs of the doors - so all you ever see even when the door is open is the pin part - and this seems to cause the two sides to always want to push out a bit.

Your house is very nice! A few hints for you: 1. In the summer, the water in your pool will be warm in the late afternoon to early evening hours because it'll have absorbed heat from the sun beating down on it. 2. As a fellow Californian, I've learned that houses in California frequently shift because they're on clay soil. Sometimes you'll even see folks go so far as to "water" a corner of their house. If you have a foundation that can be tweaked, you may need to do so from time to time. 3. Regarding the closet doors that won't stay shut, check to see if something is keeping them from closing in the first place. Sometimes doors need something to get them to stay closed, such as a magnet. 4. The "turn on at a specific time" feature for your combo washer/dryer can save you money. PG&E and many water companies charge lower rates when you use water and electricity in the evening.

I know you hear this all the time, but I just discovered you two, and have binge watched a lot of your videos. You both make me laugh, and I really enjoy your chemistry together. As a 62 year old who’s been married over 30 years, I want to share an observation regarding some of the trolls and naysayers. It’s obvious that you’re for real; the way Hannah looks at Shane with such joy, the way you weave your conversations together. I can’t imagine what prompts people to want to not just have an opinion about you, but actually state falsehoods as if they were facts in a public forum. What a monumental waste of time. My marathon watching of your videos started out from curiosity; I admit that, and I questioned the reality at first. But I stayed because of the education, the humor, and the warmth. I have no doubts, I only feel “happy” for both of you. I hope you both have as many years of marital happiness that I and my wife have had, plus a lot more. BTW we have a Doodle dog named Teddy who acts and expresses himself exactly the way your poodle acts, it’s really weird to see; especially when you scruff her around on the bed (he side-bites the covers, rubs his face everywhere, rolls over for the chest rub, etc) I know you get so many comments you’ll probably never read this, but still wanted to say thanks for the great content! laundry room doors: check to see if all the door hinge hardware is screwed all the way in. ive had that issue when i moved into an apartment. "dining room table" check to see if the feet unscrew, if so then you can use that to raise the table instead of books.

You may want a tree expert to tell you what type of palm trees you have in your yard. It looks like one that is sadly often planted by builders; the problem is they grow to incredible heights. I think they are called Royal Palms and they can go to 100 feet tall. In our development, many have been removed because of their height and the threat of a hurricane bringing them down on your home.

It’s very easy to warm your pool .. I live in Michigan and we warm ours with a solar cover!! Leave it on when not in use and uncover when your ready to swim!! Very easy on and off and very inexpensive!! The sun will warm it and being in California it will only take a few days of good sunshine I’m sure!!! Our pool gets 80 + degrees in the summer if we have consecutive hot days and don’t take the cover off.

Hannah and Shane! EEEK, I'm so happy to see how far you guys have come! I've been a fan since the VERY beginning when that special had Shane on. I actually watched it again like a couple years ago and thought it was kinda depressing. You both have sparked each other's lives so well that now you're glowing! My sister moved from Pennsylvania to California about 20 years ago and raised a couple of kids w/ her husband in Encino. Looks great! When I moved to LA we ate off of a card table with folding chairs for two years. We slept on the floor for a week before buying a mattress and metal frame (no headboard or foot board) and our microwave was on a desk for several months. Furnishing little by little is fun!
