I know this isn't like a "new game" but you guys know how I am, I only started playing this thing over the summer and I fell in love with the song. When I choose to cover something it's only because I think there's something I can add to the song. If there's nothing I can do to make it better, I think it's best to leave well enough alone, as the Sheriff would say. I loved the hymn-like writing and folksy-earthen feel that was to me, very convincingly written and I thought the tune deserved an iteration that reflected that. Thankfully I know some stellar strings players, an incredible guitarist and an amazing singer and I knew they could all knock this out of the park. At the end of the day I had very little to do with this cover but I'm proud nonetheless for giving this song new life and letting it shine in the style and genre of which it belongs. Finally, I felt its very relevant to these crazy times lol.
