I don’t think the truck driver would’ve understood Greg’s warning they wouldn’t even respond to his questions.
@buildingthephilippines2 ай бұрын
Of course not, wave at him at 40 meters away, under a kubo, when driver should be looking at his side mirrors.

Thankfully nobody was hurt! 🙏 I’m willing to bet that truck is back to work within a few days, to a week! Big band-aid and baling wire, and back on the job! Hopefully you guys will get some rain, soon? Then you’ll have to worry about mudslides, with all of the vegetation so dried up! Thanks for sharing the incident, Greg 👍

Guess this was not OSHIA approved 😊, and the Environmental Protection Agency wasn’t there too😊. Glad everyone was okay. I can’t imagine the frame and suspension are as good as it was! Thanks for sharing your excitement in the mountain in Dauin. It could have been much worse.😊

I tipped a Volvo off road truck. It’s not uncommon for Doubles (lead or pup) to tip over Michigan. Mostly it the lead and takes the truck (cab) with it. Cat the excavator or to the scene of the crime. Dig dirt out of box, tip back over on to wheels. Replace mirror on truck, change of pants, go back to work.
@buildingthephilippines2 ай бұрын
That's exactly what they did.

I think those guys did a great job! Try not be so negative Greg, nobody likes a crowd watching and commenting and sniggering when they’re struggling with a very real and dangerous situation.
@buildingthephilippines2 ай бұрын
Who was listening to me, not negative at all. How mamy times did I say on video they did a good job, maybe you fast forwarded through those parts.
@Camiguinlife2 ай бұрын
@@buildingthephilippinesmaybe have an objective listen to yourself Greg. And you might detect a bit of negativity. I wouldn’t say it for no reason. I just felt those guys were doing a great job and felt that you thought you knew better but they wouldn’t listen to you. Anyway it’s all good, keep up the content I do enjoy watching you guys.

Yeah, it’s the norm here. It’s a poor country with lots of working age men. If one gets injured, there’s 2 more to take his place. It’s kind of sad, I’ve seen it with my own in-laws.

Completely normal here! Others have attempted to pass out free boots, helmets, ear plugs, vests and so forth, but the Filipinos do things their way! That's just life here...

About those rains , just left GenSan and Tupi in Mindanao, it has sprinkled a couple of times there, on my way home to fly to Canada to the Gen San Airport , i saw devastation caused by grass fires next and nearby to airport, hectares of burned fields , yes it has been a dry summer, blame El Nino!

Yes, much drier this year as compared to the past two, I have experienced. Much hotter as well.

We feed her every day. She hangs out in front of the property and barks if any stranger comes near our gate.

G&W, good look at life in the Philippines. Is that road part of your subdivision? Will it be concreted any time? I thought you were on a paved road, or that it was one of your requirements to be on one. And does it get worse during the rainy season?
@buildingthephilippines2 ай бұрын
We are concrete to our subdivision. All the truck traffic has really torn up the road. Dust dirt everywhere as its about 4 inches thick. Hopefully heavy rain will wash it away to evpose the gravel again. No plans for concrete.
@g-manthenurseman75322 ай бұрын

You should have gone and told him that it looks like you're going to tip instead of trying to video someone seriously hurting himself, possibly even killing himself. Would have been sad if he couldn't have gone home to his family

You can NEVER tell a Filipino how to drive (even if your correct) and WE Expats know that 😮😅
@buildingthephilippines2 ай бұрын
Always trying to find a negative in the story. From seeing him back in and the actual flip was maybe one minute. I'm 40 meters away behind a concrete wall. What am I going to do wave him down from under a kubo. Wouldn't the driver be looking in his side view mirror?

Things can happen faster than you think it will, and often does, always nice to be a Quarteback , yes hindsight is always 20/20, some people claim to be able to foretell the future, like Apollo Quiboloy, does he know where the NBI will look next?

@lmcc00722 ай бұрын
Some Filipino workers don’t follow directions when they’re working for other Filipinos. Even if Greg had time to get over to them (he didn’t) and tell them that the truck was going to tip, what are the chances that they were going to listen to him? My girlfriend’s father, who is Filipino, has fired numerous workers for not following directions and/or working in an unsafe manor. Just imagine Greg, a foreigner in shorts and flip flops, running over to tell these guys how to do their jobs. If they’re polite they’re just going to ignore him. Heck they were ignoring him when he was asking about the driver, fuel, and battery. I’m pretty sure that most of them understood what he was asking.
