Must be so heartbreaking to give her away into her forever home. She was loving and thankful and the sweetest baby and did absolutely nothing wrong but she is not allowed stay with them. It's heartbreaking bc she doesn't understand what's going on and why. I wish we could explain those things. But the most heartbreaking part was the neglect. Obviously. How could anyone do this?

I'm going to be charitable and assume that the family couldn't even afford the surrender fee and never thought it would be so long until someone came to the apartment. In fact, I myself am very surprised that the landlord wasn't checking the place out immediately after the family left. However, I do agree that the family acted irresponsibly and cruelly. Perhaps their judgement was clouded by the stress of being evicted and trying to find a new home. I'm happy Danny got a great foster home and a new and loving family. This could have turned out even worse for her.

Honestly all they had to do is make a post on social media and ask for someone to take her, that would have been free, wouldn’t have taken them that long and at least they wouldn’t have left the dog to die. I would possibly agree with you had they called someone the next day to tell them the dog was alone. But they did nothing. That dog would have starved to death alone if it wasn’t for that man changing the locks. Being stressed is one thing but making a choice to let this poor dog die without even trying to get her some help is inhumane, and I hope they got charged for animal abuse.

The thing that annoys me is if this had been people that left a small child alone I’m sure they would of been tracked down and found but because it’s a dog I bet they wasn’t even an attempt to find those who left her to die. I understand getting a evicted and having to get rid of the dog but at least surrender the dog to a no kill shelter.
