I was bullied pretty bad as a child and now I still struggle as a 42 year old... how can someone like me build confidence please reply....

1. Build in body, mind and spirit improvement activities into your daily routine (ie exercise / physical training, reading / learning, meditation). 2. Buy an A5 journal and every single day write down 3 things, no matter how small, that you've done that are positive actions or positive results that help make your life better; some days it's credit for showing up to difficult things. 3. Repeat (1) and (2) for 18 months - commit to the process - and at the end of the 18 months compare your life vs the start of the 18 months; look back over the 18 months of wins you have achieved and celebrate them. 4. Begin the first steps towards a difficult challenge ie running a 5k if obese and try and make improvements each week towards the difficult challenge. Once you're ready for the challenge ie you can do a 5k run before the day of a 5k park run or equivalent; you will be a different person. 5. Get started now.

I'm 10 years younger than you but was also bullied and got the shit beaten out of me as a child. The steps I've provided are a consolidation of different things I've had to try but they've transformed my confidence.

Is there any ideal age to join the royal marines? I'm planning to join when I leave Uni when I'm about 21

Different for everyone due to life experience, physical fitness and mental resilience. Some are ready at 16 others not til they’re 25. I joined at 19 which was about right for me.
