All what is said about transferring investments is true only if the linking works. If the link to an external firm is broken (which does happen), wealthfront support does not entertain an exception or an alternative method to pull the funds in. I think this is bad because the customer is virtually stuck!

Hey this is not true. If your linking is broken and there’s a way to fix the link, support works on that. If there’s no way to fix the link, support can provide alternative methods to transfer. Either way, our support team can work on getting your investments transferred.

@@wealthfrontvideos this is unfortunately not true. If the linking does not work, suggesting an indirect transfer is not an alternative. Seems like this is what gets suggested most of the time. There is a significant tax impact and other costs for the customer when doing this. It ain’t the same as doing a full ACAT transfer. No alternative other than linking could facilitate a full ACAT transfer on Wealthfront. This is not quite the case with other firms. This is an area that can improve.
