We are almost one week away from our second annual National Day of Action! In this final stretch we invite you to join us for this week’s Homeroom “The Weaponization of Colorblindness: Understanding the Attacks on Civil Rights and DEI,”. We are thrilled to welcome Shavon Arline-Bradley (NCNW), Shaun Harper (USC), Nicholas Espiritu (NILC), and Angela Valenzuela (UT-Austin) to share their invaluable insights with us. We will also be joined by Little Rock, Arkansas Central High School freshman student Sadie Belle Reynolds; and Freedom to Learn advocate and Morgan State student Thalya Baptiste. Together, we will build upon last week’s gathering to discuss how colorblindness has been utilized by the right to perpetuate the attacks on DEI and civil rights. We will also be joined by Kimberlé Crenshaw (AAPF/F2L), Kaye Wise Whitehead (F2L), Tim Wise (F2L), and Jocelyn Walker (AAPF) to guide us through their engaging and informative weekly segments - as well as Nia Nunn for our artivism segment. This Homeroom will make it evident that a colorblind response will never be sufficient to combat a color-conscious crisis.
We hope you will join us and commit to defending the Freedom to Learn. Follow us on social media at @AAPolicyForum to stay connected and learn more.
