I finished the book this afternoon. It is meticulously researched and exceptionally well-written. It was a real page-turner and, although I was familiar with the main events in the smear campaign, I still learned so much from it that I wasn't aware of before. If you want to know what happened to the British left in the last decade, this is required reading.

A representation election in Palestine has never been held - not during the UK Mandate, which ended in 1948, and not since. Such an election would have registered the will of the indigenous majority Palestinian population. This anti-democratic oversight has led to horrific, ongoing Palestinian suffering. Palestinian organizations, together with their supporters in every nation, must unite across the globe and insist that the nations of the world register their support for a plebiscite for Palestine.

I would love to read a book on ancient Palestine, I would like to discover it's ancient kings & or queens , it's ancient religion ( s) it's currency , it's wars , it's peace treaties , it's borders with its neighbours & all the relevant information from other ancient historians who wrote about such a well known country or maybe it's a case of the Atlantis. If you understand SEMITISM for what it is, you don't have to engage in convoluted thought-carnaval. Semitism is an ideology. It is the ideology of a self-proclaimed people of "semites" who are above all others. A blood and soil ideology, a cult of descent that is aggressively directed against humanity. And as a weapon, perverted terms are used to intimidate the human race. Anti-Semitism is a noble philanthropic attitude, it is not directed against human beings, but against the misanthropic ideology described above.

Judaism is a religious faith; sorry to ‘shout’ but it’s NOT an ethnicity. Like the Catholic, Anglican or Muslim faiths, one can convert to any of these religious positions. Zionism is a political ideology, founded by a Hungarian man of jewish faith, Theodor Herzl, at the end of the 19th century. Many jewish people are anti-zionist. Asa Winstanley mentions the group Jewish Voice for Labour, who are jewish and anti-zionist. Like other anti-zionists, they are the wrong sort of jews for Keir Starmer’s Labour party, and have largely been expelled, on spurious grounds.
