@@WeaponsEducation Tom it’s a great video, I applaud you for exposing this crappy product. I’ve never carried bear spray or would. It’s a scam, it gives people false hope.
@The_Black_Knight2 ай бұрын
From roughly 50m, it takes 2.5 seconds for a full bear charge to reach you. Trained, a proficient marksman can get off two rounds with a 44 magnum accurately. Not easily possible with a 454 Casull or 500 magnum.

Wonder how it would do on a gator.
@WeaponsEducation2 ай бұрын
I was waiting for that! As the canal in my yard is infested with gators. I checked it first, but last week there was an 8 footer right in front of me and I did not know it. They are remarkable, they duck down one inch and are always invisible. Thanks. Gators do not attack humans like the bogus media says, they are afraid of humans for the most part. I grew up them. No, bear spray will not stop one!
@SingleStacked2 ай бұрын
@@WeaponsEducation I agree. They are more afraid of you. Just keep the small dogs away from the water's edge. I believe they also have a protective "eye shield" that would make a spray ineffective.

I watched ya video from a long time ago about .454 Casull. Bud’s had one come in stock last month, I got it.! When I go out in woods or backpacking it’ll always be with me with the Underwood ammo. Great videos as always.

I agree with what you said wholeheartedly, but, I also laughed my butt off at the acting and theatrics! Good stuff man! I have the 500 mag performance center 10.5 inch compensated hunter model with the shoulder strap. 700 grain hard cast from Steinel put a hurting on your hand and wrist in that gun but I promise you they would drop a bear in its tracks!!! Excellent ammo and excellent gun!!!

With a short barrel, large caliber handgun you probably would only have an opportunity for one well placed shot. With the panic factor, and recoil working against you, as that large wild animal is bearing down on you, (no pun intended) to reacquire the target and align the sights to squeeze off an accurate second shot would be difficult, it would be spray and pray at that point. Still I’d much rather take my chances with a firearm than bear spray. .357 magnum with Buffalo Bore ammo would be the minimum, and I’d still feel under armed.
@WeaponsEducation2 ай бұрын
Yes the 500 mag recoil is brutal. Will a 10mm 15 round mag do it? better then a spray can. I just don't like the way the spray is advertised.
@fratzogmopars2 ай бұрын
@@WeaponsEducation I don’t own a 10mm and only shot one once, and to me it had a bit of a kick, but nothing outrageous. I’m a wheel gun dinosaur, I seem to be more accurate with a revolver than semi-auto, so I’d lean towards .357 or .44 mag, with powerful ammo if I was ever in bear country, the larger capacity a semi- auto offers is a plus though. I guess in the end shot placement will be the deciding factor, a few get that lucky shot using a .22 cal but you’d want to stack the odds in your favor beforehand and hope you never have to find out just what was enough firepower.
@fratzogmopars2 ай бұрын
Personally, I’d never even consider carrying bear spray.

Pepper spray is better for a human. The pepper spray is designed for in your face, get the gel. Bear spray is just a big mess. If it works. Do not trust these cheesy spray caps.

Sabre Frontiersman effective against large dogs and people. Activation around 2-5 seconds in the face. Personal experience with both including a 200+ lb Saint Bernard. Crossdraw method with baton in left hand to block bite attack. Prefer a Colt or Taurus 44 Magnum in backwoods. Used those successfully as well with black bears and cougar. Chest rig. A 500 magnum is hard to control in fast response situation. Bear spray has its use as a tool.
