I love this & am subscribing…thank you for sharing! I have a hard time listening to two people talk at the same time but you were so very patient. Her hands were everywhere.

Thank you! Sounds like you might prefer my other KZbin videos which I host alone, instead of being a guest on PBS TV!!

What fun! I am tall and "wide"; now to find a long enough sweatshirt!

Check out the size and measurement charts for the different brand of sweatshirts on the Jiffyshirt.com website. Each brand varies a lot with their measurements. Hopefully that will help you find the perfect fit. Good luck

When you made the curved pieces did you fuse the fabric pieces to the cloth and then quilt it to the sweatshirt?
@karen.eckmeier12 күн бұрын
The fabric with the topstitched curves is made to match the size of the sweatshirt templates (ex: 2 sleeves, 2 fronts + back). Then pin basted in place and quilted directly to the sweatshirt. This video is short on details because it was done for PBS TV and is more of an introduction to the technique.. For more information and ALL the details, please check out my other KZbin videos (Quilted Waves Vest Part 1 and 2) and my book "Wearable Waves" available on amazon.com.

I find the quilting difficult to follow. It would be nice to see it sewn piece by piece.

Since this was done for a TV show, I wasn't allowed too much time to show all of the steps. For more details check out my book Wearable Waves on amazon.com and also my other 2 KZbin videos: Quilted Waves Vest I and II.

I don't mean to be awkward but even though I have been a sewer for many years, I found this video very difficult to follow, and believe me, I really wanted to. Looking at the comments there must be something wrong with me

Thank you for your comment and struggle to understand the video. The focus in this video is how to make curves using my topstitched piecing technique. As a an accomplished seamstress you already know how to sew, but this approach of topstitching and creating a fabric is probably very new to you. This particular video was done for a PBS TV show, so it really only touches on the topic. I have several more videos that I have made that introduce my topstitched waves and how to add them to a jacket/vest (they can also be used to make quilts and landscapes too -but that's another topic and other books!!). Just google Karen Eckmeier KZbin Channel for more of my instructional videos. Also I have a book entitled Wearable Waves available on Amazon that covers every little detail. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I'm happy to help so that you can have fun making waves!
