@@antondavies3136there are a few things wrong with your comment. Firstly, it doesn’t come across as a middle finger. Hence, “rip they commented” and “won’t somebody tell me what i believe”. This is such a genius move. They simultaneously have given certain people "what they want", whilst maintaining their artistic vision, and expressing a message they feel deeply about. Huge track. I hope that those who perhaps disregarded the last two records can now go back and see that they have been here all along.

@@grendels-mother I think it could be argued that people just didn't like the previous album because it just wasn't great or very unique, not because it was lacking in heaviness or screams. I started listening to Architects with FTTWTE, and I loved everything on that album (Black Lungs was slightly meh, but it was still decent). Unlike most other Architects fans I'm not attached to the old albums and I don't really like them, but man the previous album just didn't hit it for me. It has moments of greatness, but most of the tracks just feel like they go nowhere or just have something missing, so it's not like the album is bad, it just isn't good. Also Sam's voice just starts sounding a little grating, because most of the time is spent singing in the same style, I really wish he would have tried mixing some of his softer singing style. And honestly, after a second listen, this track isn't hitting it either. Maybe it's just that I like the grandiose sound of FTTWTE.

I like it, a lot of people out here complaining about chorus’s like shut up. Architects actually has some of the best chorus’s in my opinion. And they also put a lot expressions and plays on words with an almost biblical way of delivering lines. Architects is a great band hands down

I wish no one has to ever go through that. If you're a true fan of art (music) and a fan of this band we have to give them the respect they deserve!!! I've been a fan since the first time that this music hit my ears 12 years ago. So thank you guys, for getting me through some of the darkest times and best times of my life!!! The "guitar scratches" thing is called a pick scrape. They're pretty common now and a lot of bands use them, but it wasn't always like that, especially not in metalcore. Gojira popularized the use of pick scrapes. So much so that you'll hear a lot of people refer to them as "Gojira scrapes" Not being condescending, just attempting to be informative.

@@phlumt The solution isn't to reduce the heaviness. The solution to a stagnant heavy sound isn't to remove the heavy, it's to try and push for new ideas in the heavy. New Architects isn't less stagnant than old Architects, it's just the same stagnation with more clean vocals. More clean vocals doesn't equal more creativity, it doesn't mean anything other than... more clean vocals. And here's the thing, I'm not even against a band going lighter. FFS, I like amo. I think amo is a great album, and it's lighter than anything Architects ever did. But amo was legitimately experimental, and creative, and varied. Recent Architects is homogenous, samey, and bland. If my only two choices are slightly bland heavy and slightly bland light, I'll choose slightly bland heavy even though I'd much rather have something heavy or light that wasn't bland at all.

@@nikkehtine Eh it kinda does. Not because "hurr durr not heavy enough". I mean, I like amo. Clearly that's not my issue. But because it all sounds the same. Aside from "Meteor", which is a legitimately awesome song, and "Discourse is Dead", which I only know because it rips off a Like Moths To Flames chorus almost verbatim, I cannot tell any songs on the last main Architects albums apart from each other. They all blend together. There's very little variety or memorability to their recent songs. It's not overtly "bad". But when every song sounds the same, it feels worse than it might actually be. Credit to an album as poppy as amo, that album brims with variety. From the trance beats of nihilist blues to the nu metal of wonderful life to the r&b elements of mother tongue. It's light, but it's varied and creative. Modern Architects has just been the same few song ideas done over and over and over and over again.
