Seeing this cobra cb radio does bring back a lot of memories, a lot of great times and a lot of entertainment as well. now back in the 90s and on the weekends late at nights we use to Cruise the strip, meaning riding up and down all night long on the main Street and taking turns talking to people on the radio. We always talked on channel 27 once in a great while we'll talk to the truckers and all that. Times do you go by fast today and that is for sure. Look how quick the 1990s came and look how fast they were gone, now we're in the year 2022. I so miss talking on a cobra radio cb.

Good video. Skip to 1:21 to start the actual lesson, and the 2:41 mark covers the ACTUAL calibration procedure. If you read your radio manual, it probably suggests you do this calibration technique on a couple channels...1, 20 & 40. I have done, not sure I ever saw anything different on the meters from channel to channel.

Stryker 10 Meter Radio SR-955HPC The best mobile radio I've ever owned! Lots of surprises and all good. I read extensively about it but the amazing filters were not mentioned. The receive is amazingly clear. Everything works and very well. Very happy new Stryker owner!

The Stryker is a 10 meter radio not a CB, if you have it modded to talk on the CB (11 meter) frequencies then you are running a illegal radio, do everybody a big favor and stay off of the CB frequencies.

Only a tuner should be the last thing in line so as to show amp output, you will need an SWR meter to measure the radio and a tuner to match the antenna to everything else. Suggestions vary according to what you are using, If you want to play with the big boys you need a SWR meter and an antenna tuner to go with that amplifier.

ok for those who don't know, unless the board has been hacked up RF gain does nothing to your transmit power, it essentially amplifies receive signal so that you can hear weaker signals.

I'm almost 100% certain RF gain doesn't increase your output, I'm no expert and i figured i was wrong so i googled it. Yeah according to all the articles I'm seeing the RF gain only Increases/decreases incoming signals.
@wearecb5 жыл бұрын
You would be correct! RF is used as a synonym for "radio," in this case a CB radio. It describes the wireless communication of signals through the air rather than through wires like a plug-in home phone. Noise interferes with signals and it comes from the atmosphere, other nearby channels that overlap slightly, and environmental surroundings. To counteract noise, RF gain acts as a sensitivity filter. It reduces noise in the receiver without reducing reception power as a CB radio squelch does.

Hi Leonardo! Have you tuned your antennas to your truck? If so, what are your SWR readings on channels 1 and 40? If you haven't, we recommend not transmitting until you know that your SWR readings are within an acceptable range otherwise you might damage your radio.

Ok...the SWR readings are decent/acceptable. Since you are still getting the antenna warning light, you will want to make sure that your system is properly grounded. This section of our Help Center could help you with that: www.wearecb.com/testing-cb-antenna-ground.html
@therookiefisherman52347 жыл бұрын
Does bad ground cause for the other driver not to here me and only see my keying?
@wearecb7 жыл бұрын
Since you do have good SWR, it is likely that it is grounded properly but we just wanted you to make sure since this is very important. Also, it might be a good idea to use an external SWR meter to verify that your SWR readings are correct. When testing with the other trucker, verify that your Mic Gain and Rf Gain are turned all the way up. If it still doesn't work, you might try using a different microphone- it could be a bad microphone or something damaged in your radio.
