It's interesting that when this came out, not many were into this song.They were into whatever that was on the radio at the time. True Hip Hop heads dug it, but it wasn't universally received like it is today. But it seemed like the greatness of this song couldn't be denied. Some had to rediscover it. Most had to discover it and realize it's meaning. However you got here, I'm glad you made it. Took ya long enough. The definition of a slow burn.

Man, I just spent the last 20 years of my life thinking De La Soul were "the great rappers on Gorillaz tracks" Man, did I not expect them to not only be some of the best lyricists in Hip Hop, but that they had the courage to speak up against the commercialization of culture The best part about this? Got to see them live at the 2nd Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2001 when their current MTV/radio hit was Oooh ft Redman and even though this was essentially a massive rave, DLS were actually one of the few hip hop acts that would get booked at raves so they were one of the headliners and when Oooh came on the entire massive crowd was waving their hands and there was a guy on crutches with a leg in a cast who was even waving his crutches back and forth. It was one of the most hype crowds I've ever been part of. The whole set was sick and was definitely the highlight of the event for me
