I was born in Colombia and I am half Aruban. Arubans are very similar to Venezuelans and Colombian in culture and ethnicity. Especially during Christmas, we Arubans celebrate with gaita music and hallacas (we spell it ayaca). We also share the same Caiquetio Arawakan ancestry with Colombians and Venezuelans.. especially Venezuelans! I would love to visit Maracaibo again. In Aruba we speak a creole that is based off Spanish, Portuguese, and words from Dutch and English. If you ever get the chance to visit Aruba - by all means, please do!
