@@ronmurray7349 That’s not what happened. They were going to pit Piastri first but Norris was scared of being undercut by Hamilton. They told Norris they would pit him first to cover Hamilton on the condition he swapped back with Piastri (after the Hamilton threat was neutralized) since he was taking priority that wasn’t supposed to be his. They did the undercut and Norris wasn’t swapping back like he was supposed to. Norris isn’t wholly at fault, but he knew what the conditions were when he asked to pit early. That wasn’t his stop to take and he doesn’t get to whine after the fact because he didn’t get to steal the win from Piastri. Piastri has done the same for him plenty of times before and never so much as complained.

It actually has worked out for years. Most teams that aren't the top three (Mercedes; Ferrari; Red Bull) were really closed together, close enough for regular 4-car battles or 5 in the midfield. I'm quite sure the reason there was still blatant domination at the front is because of the behind-the-scenes stuff that screwed up the regulation. The best thing about F1 is that no matter who the driver is the tables always turn. When any driver complains about blocking in practice, or a move around the outside resulting in contact or a late braking "dive bomb" it's only a matter of time before they end up in exactly the same situation with the roles reversed. Norris might complain about team orders when they apply to him but you know before long he will be behind Oscar due to a strategy call and will be on the radio calling for the same team orders to be applied to him.

He is a spoilt brat who needs a reality check. Won one race and thinks he’s the shit. If the gap was below 50 points I’d understand. But 75+ points with only half the season left? Consistently overpushed the car, warranting those messages from his engineers and directors, and then had the gaul to complain that Piastri wasn’t catching up quickly enough. Was easily slower than his teammate for 50 laps. Some of the responses he gave back to his engineers on the radio reminded me of how a rebellious child talks to their parents as soon as they hit puberty. Needs a wake up call. Piastri was told that the pitstop is not to undercut him, but to cover Hamilton and after Norris undercut him, Piastri was told "Don't worry about it", indicating that the driver swap was already planned before the race. Verstappen must learn that it is important to follow the track direction. It will avoid many crashes and track exiting.

Wow! How did Max get away with the Hamilton incident - isn’t there plenty of precedent of drivers arriving too fast, locking the brakes, being fully out of control and hitting the car turning into the corner? I’m definitely not an LH fanboi but that was undoubtably MV’s fault.

@@WhoStoleMyAlias well that’s just silly. But if you want to play what if, let’s pretend that LH wasn’t there. He retired 3 laps previous. So we have Max approaching T1 way too fast and he locks all 4 wheels and slides straight on, towards the outside of the corner. He can’t turn because his brakes are locked and he can’t stop for the same reason. At this point we would say that Max’s car is out-of-control. As Martin would say “he out-braked himself”. I can’t believe that Max drove too fast and locked his brakes on purpose. Dare I say it “Max made a mistake”. Now let’s replay that with Lewis in position. Lewis is on the racing line, he turns into the corner and an out-of-control car slides into the side of him. Did Lewis squeeze Max? Sure. But he did so to make Max turn away or slow-down & back out of the contest. But MV couldn’t do either because he was out of control. The whole situation occurred because Max made a rookie mistake.

Have you ever noticed that as soon as you turn into a world champion, or just a really high driver that’s had great success, the moment you stop winning that is everyone else’s fault defiantly not yours.
