I agree that Maddison worked harder than previous game, but he is far from ideal to be a captain. He hadnt done much for this club and overrated. Thus he doesnt get the trust from team mates. Kulu should be the VC instead of Maddison. I am not sure about him trying to help Richie, since he is knowingly being selfish and wanting to get into score sheet. He would be hated by the team mates, if he insisted to take the penalty and missed to score. It was too much on the stake. He knew he was not good enough for the penalty. At the end he got cold feet and gave the pressure to Richie and sold his decission as an effort to help Richie.

He should have scored in the first for sure. But the second half he created at the minimum two very good opportunities and was causing a lot of problems on the left. I think more than anything we should be excited about the fact that this guy is still 17 and showing flashes of real quality

He definitely created. The chance for Johnson and the ball through the box that somehow got by Richi AND Bergvall. His movement on the headed chance in the first half was beautiful and he should have done better and gotten an goal.

If you think the praise is over blown you didn’t watch the game. No one has dribbled through players like that in the prem for at least 15 years. He created at least three very good chances

Mikey Moore, who badly missed a point blank header gets a 9. Sums up our expectations I guess. 14 year old academy kids would have done a better job. His header technique on the ball is ZERO out of 10.
