A few of the lovely subscribers of this channel have asked me to cover the topic of how to feel confident wearing historical fashion (out in public for instance) and how to manage criticism when it inevitably arises.
Any time you choose to do something that is different or not in the "mainstream", you will most likely receive criticism in some shape or form. Even if you do stick to the "mainstream", chances are you'll just receive criticism about something else. You do not have to let that criticism stop you from living your most authentic life. Having self-confidence when wearing historical clothing starts with recognising that thoughts are just thoughts, and they do not have to mean anything.
This video covers some of the deeper thought processes behind judgement and how to mentally manage feelings of insecurity when being judged, along with some practical steps you can take to grow more comfortable with wearing anything you desire to. Then, a series of potential responses to criticisers is presented, so you can have an answer (or a lack of answer) ready if a negative comment is made towards you.
It is so worth it to live a life of authenticity and self-expression, and so I encourage you, regardless of how people react, to wear all the historical fashion you desire. It may be uncomfortable at first, but there are ways to mitigate any feelings of distress that may arise.
