The 90's Nike Basketball era was on another level when it came to sneaker design. So many great silhouettes... Uptempo's, Penny's, Barkley's, Force 180's etc. And back then you could actually buy sneaker you wanted without paying resell lol

MISS those days, for real. I don’t want to come off “OLD” but feel bad that some of these younger kids will NEVER know what it’s like to just walk in to a Dr Jay or Modells or Foot Locker and ask for your size weeks after the release. Not having to make massive lines or raffles or resale apps, which Chris is right it’s RIDICULOUS(Even MORE now) with the prices. The 1990’s was KING 👑 for Nike from Basketball to Runners to Hiking to Tennis to Football to Actual Gear. IMO Nike had the GAME ON LOCK 🔒. It was a GREAT TIME…..1st Pair of NameBrand Sneakers were Adidas Pro Model Superstar High Top in 2001(THANK YOU GRANDPA 👴 RIP 1930-2007) ☮️♥️ from Queens NY

@@kaneda4102 And they were heavy!! I had these when they first came out, I was 19 at the time and honestly didn't wear them THAT much because they were heavy and clunky. Now I'm looking at them..again. I kinda want them back, just nostalgia reasons maybe mixed with mid life crisis..lol

I always LOVED these sneakers since I first saw friends wear them back in the early 90’s, & thankfully I grabbed a few pairs a couple years ago. Ironically just featured a different colorway of these in my latest video, but the “Billy Hoyle” colorway that you have are my favorite version of these! 👟

Love the 90's era shoes... grew up wanting them all! The silhouette of a high top for me still epitomises basketball shoes. Great vid. The memories of checking out every sports shop catalogue checking out what new nike, reeboks, converse and l.a. gear were out. Ahhh takes me back.

Doesn't the Point Lane release give you Command Force vibes? Probably why Jodi didn't really like them.

A little late to this video but I’ve had these Commands for a few years now and still love them so much. So much so I finally decided to find a 2nd hand pair in a different colourway. They’re so comfy with all that padding. Those early/mid 90s bball shoes are the best! Wish Nike would release more stuff like this. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jordan’s but it all gets a bit boring after a while. I dig the Reebok pumps too! Cons react need to catch up already.

AAAAHHHH I have wanted these since the early 90s (I was 6-8 years old). I remember I watched White Men Can't Jump with my dad & Billy Hoyle was one of the best characters ever!! Pre-internet I spent years looking for which model they were & kept being told they were the Reebok Pump. Once I found out I've been trying to locate a pair for under $450 in my size. My daughter had just been born during the last retro so I didn't have an extra penny to my name. Part of me wants to settle for the acid wash denim colorway b/c they're so original but I know I'll regret not having the perfect pair!

David Robinson was a star in Naval Academy and went to NCAA March Madness. So he was pretty well known already. His route to NBA was pretty circuitous because he served 2 years in the Navy after graduating, instead of directly joining the NBA after being drafted #1.

I have the Black Spurs air commands. My favorites. 🤩🤩🤩
@lukasandrlt3 жыл бұрын
I have had these air command forces for 6 years! Like all 90s era shoes they are built like tanks. Despite me having worn them for hundreds of miles thousand times, they are in still good condition - the panels are all intact, thick sole has still a lot of grip despite approaching flattening of the herringbone. Pump is a complete useless gimic that I never use and the unusual bright white hi tops are true head turners. The only concern that I have is that after so many years white soles have completely oxidized, making the rubber look brownish yellow. But yeah, these sneakerboots are very nice when you wear them with jeans or wear them with shorts and high white socks

Yes sir! I was only wearing mine yesterday lol. One of my favourites. I'm lucky enough to own all three nike pump models. These command forces are really comfortable imo. They are more comfortable than most Jordan retros. You can really feel the air cushioning. The least comfortable is the first nike pump (the air pressure) but is still as nice aesthetically. I wear toe guards in my command forces because that toe box is just like the AF1'S and will crease like hell. Great pickup Chris. 👍

OMG! I wanted those so bad! I asked my dad to get me those and he said sure! I was so excited waited for him to send to me. This was early 90s so there wasn't next day delivery, that was cheap anyway, so I waited... Then one day I got home and there it was. A box. I couldn't wait! I ripped open the packaging and open the box and what as in the box WAS a pair of nike air force hightops but they were not these. They were the more basic version. No pump. No cool neon green. No David Robinson signature swagger. It was a white and blue pair and while they were still awesome they weren't these. Talk about heartbroken! I was still appreciative that they were bought for me, just to be clear. Anyway those are fire!
