She was proud of me for working for them and I got so many compliments from kids and teachers at school. That's one thing about sneakers that is so great is the story telling and the memories that I never forget. I'm so thankful for this video.

This one is magnitudes better in quality. AJ1s are just a style icon, nothing else; you’re paying for marketing. Love both shoes but these orbit greys are definitely special and I would take these over 95% of the 1’s releases these days.

The Dassler brothers shared a shoe company prior to WW2 but split up shortly after. The younger brother Adolf/Adi started Adidas while the older brother Rudolf/Rudi started Puma across the river. The book The Sneaker Wars documents the rivalry between the two companies and the extended families and interestingly shares how these two companies originally drove the sneaker market into what it is today in terms of endorsements, marketing etc.

It's about time Adidas got some true love, I tell people all the time the top tens were out years before the Jordan 1 and Nike stole the design. Now they are super hyped and almost doubled the price with the same tech inside, that's all retro Jordans. Too tens wore by the top ten best players in the NBA, in 79. Blame it on Adidas marketing for allowing Nike to change history.

Don't forget Nike also ripped off the Converse Pro Leather to make the Blazer. Nike was founded on taking other brand's hardwork but thankfully T. Hatfield and other designers redeemed them.

Up until I saw this video today 1/11/24 I thought these were a lost classic. I just got through adding the final pair to my collection which I been collecting since 1984. I paid $150.00 for my 1st pair in boston Massachusetts.i don't have a head count but I got at least 20 pair of forums, 20 pairs of top ten and about 10 pairs of eqt bball plus various other sneakers. I still wear mine like I did back in 1984. Great video. Thanks for displaying a great sneaker

The AJ1 High Neutral Grey will never be Retro of the year since not many can obtain them at retail price. The brand has made them unattainable thus removing it from being considered for Retro of the year.

This AJ1 being one of them and a purposefully rare shoe that cannot be obtained by the masses in order to be worn and enjoyed just cannot be considered shoe of the year/Retro of the year at all.

Nice review I am an official 80s adidas old head, and when these dropped in 84 it was like woooo! Just like when the AF1 dropped almost two years prior, the design, the sole was like nothing we had seen . To me the design was way ahead of its time and altho most old heads like me love the top ten more, we know the form is better lookin and built. The first form had no suede I didnt like the suede the dingy tongue(on the white on white) or the suede around the heel or the piss yellow strings on these remakes but I get the point. I grabbed mine in 85 spring after they went down to $90 from $125 in Bmore Philly NY, the mid Atlantic area basically. Mike wanted to sign with Adidas so bad but Adidas said no thanx because back then the game revolved around the Big man and it was thought no team could win a chip without a dominant big man, leave it to Mike to be the first to win without one. Adidas wasn't willing to be the first to give a guard a signature shoe and nooobody knew Mike was gonna set the league on fire 🔥 like he did hence being the third pick not the first. Hakeem and Sam Bowie(big men) were taken before him then Sam Perkins Barkley and Sam Bowie's team mate Mel Turpin no guard until pick 7 is the proof guards werent as important to the game as big men were. He is some where on here talking about it but we def thought they were gonna bless Mike with this shoe as he entered the league, yo I know they regretted that they didn't…

The high is easily my favorite shoe, the general releases in white/cream/black being my absolute favorite of all time. I love many high-tops, but when I see these next to the AF1 High's, which I think the Forums were a response to, I seriously appreciate the design. If Adidas ever sets up a customizer like Nike or Vans, I'm gonna have a problem.

These are so dope. I copped the blue thread cloud white pair as well. The leather on the cloud white pair is better than the AJ 1 SBB. Yes, you're reading that correctly. The overall materials on both shoes blows JB quality out of the water. You get all of that from around the $100.00 price range. People can keep sleeping all they want. I will be right here in a shoe that looks good, feels good and retails for half the price of Js. I rank this Orbit Grey pair higher than the AJ 1 neutral Grey's. Unpopular opinion I know. I like what I like.

I’ve always loved Adidas more than Nike. Especially being born in 87, and growing up in the 90’s and 2000’s as a true Millennial, I have always had Adidas sneakers, and clothes. I’ve had my share of AF 1’s, but that’s only recently 2015+, and lately AJ 1’s, and dunks. But now I miss Adidas. Last pair was Stan Smith’s back in 2018. Haven’t worn Adidas since then. These and the lows without the strap are sol out everywhere💔💔💔 I’ve also not worn Adidas shoes much due to the fact than they get a lot of hate. People as mentioned, think Nike did everything 1st, and is the better brand. Adidas is kinda seen as the expired old fashioned brand, even if Yeezys are still hyped. Lol I have always had the superstars, mostly in all white, and I got small, but wide feet. Never had any issues🤷🏾‍♀️ Way more comfortable than Nike.

I got the blue color way and was born in 93 but I’m OBSESSED with the 80s So when adidas RE retroed these they made them Look IDENTICAL to how they looked in the 80s, you’d see a lot of synth pop kids in the 80s wearing these exact high top adidas shoe with blue skinny jeans with the bottom Of the pants rolled up one and a Jean jacket holding a keytar ❤️😆 so bad ass so I went ahead and recreated that exact same look today and people see me walking out and about and they think I’m a legit time traveler from 1985 😂

Regarding the Adidas Superstars, they were my go to shoe as a kid for casual and on court. Yes they were narrow but I felt the stitched on stripe nearest the toebox dug into my foot a lot so I think that's what gave it the feeling of narrowness. It was the stiff stripes.
