I cannot emphasize this enough. You are by far my favorite footwear review channel. Everyone else does the usual hype, but you standout because of the fact that you show appreciation to skate brands. Although, demand/popularity for skate shoes may have waned. Back during the early nineties and into the early 2000s, SK8 shoes were extremely popular. If you were a baller…you’d flip through the pages of the Eastbay catalog. If you were a SK8r…you most definitely looked through the CCS catalog. The 90s were a great time for skateboarding culture and thank you Chris for showing your love from time to time by showcasing skate brands. Keep it coming, man! RESPECT!!

Ronnie Creager’s spot in Menikmati is one of my favorite skate videos to watch. His “kickflip backside tailslide shuv-it out” in slow motion is amazing. It’s like he is floating over his board.

IIRC BASF created Boost. And its funny cause I remember wearing éS or Fallen shoes while listening to Punk-pop/Ska-punk that I recorded on a BASF cassete tape on my Walkman! Yes, I'm that old. Actually, I'm about to get my first pair of New Balances 😂

As someone who always wears skate shoes, definitely go a half size up in these. I feel like you could make them work if the toecap wasn’t rubber, but that stuff isn’t going to break in and stretch at all haha.

Just to clarify about the sizing for "skate shoes" the half a size up doesn't really apply to ALL "skate shoes". The éS One Nine 7 (aka Koston 1/EK01) is a slimmer shoe. It's retro as well. You're fine going true to size on the One Nine 7s. It's really all in the construction of the shoe. If they're bulky like the Accel OG, Penny 2s, the Creager and more then like the Muska, yeah, go half a size up. Also, i had the navy, grey and red color way in the 8th grade. The laces didn't sinch up so tight close to the toe box, the tongue was slimmer and curved to over your foot and the grey portion of the heel pull tab was reflective. I don't know why they got rid of that. Still love the reissue. Takes me back to 98/99! Lastly, two other colorways are due to come out 1st quarter of next year. Navy, Grey, Red and White/Royal blue.

I knew which shoe this was as soon as I saw the thumbnail. I only follow for the rare skate shoe deep cuts like this. Thank you bro. Edit: I have the original re-release of the es scheme. Several Osiris d3s for the culture. Es accel OGs and just recently picked up the es 197 which is the koston 1 silhouette. Love the recent push to re release the classics.

It was a shoe brand called Karhu that invented the air unit in running sneakers in like the 1960's or something! Karhu is a Finnish shoe brand. They also invented the Adidas 3-stripes logo and sold it to Adidas in the 1950's

Euro sizing is always the accurate sizing so always use that when choosing any shoe except Nike sometimes their shoes are way too narrow

Never knew it was pronounced "ess". 😅When I moved out to California and all my friends skated, they always called it "E.S." haha. I think they weren't as popular with my friends as Osiris, Etnies, Vans, etc. P.S. loved Mrs. Wing's singing rendition 😂

Lol yeah my first shoe collection was sk8 shoes .... my boot size is 8d and my sk8 shoe size is 8.5. always follow your women's size with sk8 shoes so I always ✔️ for 10w....hope this helps someone

These are legit close to the OG’s, cause eS blew it with the Quattro reissue. Those weren’t even close to the pair I had in 98!

The Quattro isn’t a true reissue outside of the name and upper. That tooling is nothing like the OG which is unfortunate. But, they still look really good and are comfortable so it’s not horrible. Hopefully they can invest is recreating the original tooling so we can get the real deal reissue soon.

I bought this pair that I wanted in the 90s , but I noticed two or three manufacturing defects. When I opened the box I was disgusted. after this video, I realize that you have the same defects in particular a red stain behind the heel of the left shoe, as if the red ink had smeared on the gray suede
