Great discussion Dr. Swain. You have mastered the ability to break the science down to everyday people speak, whilst also injecting a little bit of the jargon to keep us on our toes and engaged.

This is fascinating. Thank you for taking the time to explain the Scott's valley tornado. I've seen a smallish wind tunnel in Ukiah, Ca. I saw the effect of such ripping out trees in a local park.

Thanks! So much interesting information and discussion of our wild and wacky California weather. I've been spreading the word about this wonderful site those with interests involve the weather, particularly the ag community in the North Bay.

We live just three miles from Scotts Valley and the tornado--several friends were up there in SV during that tornado--sitting in their cars watching other cars being flipped by the tornado. It was wild and SV is still a mess.

BTW--we did not get a tornado warning for our area--in fact--we weren't even under a severe weather warning or high wind warning at the time.

@Weather West - Could we train an AI against weather satellite data and weather report data to recognise weather systems and cells as an advanced flagging and warning system ?

Would you think that the ever growing amount of energy in Earth's systems due to greenhouse gases act as stimulus to weather and climate events?
