WEATHER IN GERMANY: November is heating up - early winter shock! Now it's raining and cold!
November is showing its typical side this year: gray, foggy and cool - a classic "early winter." Today, high pressure dominates, stretching from southern Germany to the Atlantic. While the northern half of Germany remains under thick clouds, there are still sunny spells in the south and the high elevations of the low mountain ranges. However, the sunny spells there are also short, before it becomes cloudy and partly rainy again everywhere. Temperatures fluctuate between 4 degrees on the edge of the Alps and a mild 12 degrees in Emsland and on Sylt.
The weather will be more changeable at the weekend: the wind will pick up, and from Sunday onwards, heavy rain is expected, heralding the start of early winter. For drivers, this also means: time to fit winter tires, especially in view of the new winter tire regulations that have been in force since October. While the north is already preparing for wet and windy weather, the south will probably also become increasingly uncomfortable in the new week - a clear sign that the cycling season is coming to an end.
