Australia: WA Cyclone risk, severe thunderstorms SE, temp changes in south

There are a number of moving parts to the weather this week with the possibility of a tropical cyclone forming around the Kimberley or Pilbara bringing widespread rain, thunderstorms and potentially wind - we explain why the forecast isn’t locked in yet.
In the south-eastern corner of Australia the heat goes up this week bringing widespread showers and severe thunderstorms - especially for NSW. Later in the week temperatures drop as a refreshing southerly moves on through - check your local temperatures for timing where you are.
We also take a look at the rain risks around Qld following the flooding, with rain clouds breaking up - but still some pockets of heavy rain.
*Technical Issue: We apologise for the brightness/colour issues in some of the maps in today’s video, it was out of our control today.

From Cranebook, NSW - I am thrilled with today's rain!!! Finally my prayers have been answered & we are receiving decent rain for a wonderful change, I haven't seen this much in such a long time. We had one cell go through & so had a river at our front door rushing down to the bottom of the hill as we are near the top but I wouldn't like to have to venture out off the porch without bare feet or gumboots on!! We have stairs going up to our letterbox & it was a waterfall!! So we will have clean drains by the time this lot is finished & my son-in-law will finally need to mow the grass that will once again flourish. Also it will clean out the Nepean river & lake area which is probably a good thing!! So bring it on...

Phil, Do I notice a bit of _discomfort_ in mentioning the Bee Oh Em? This is new, and IK that YK it doesn't help the channels credibility *at all!* 😂 Although I would like much more rain, I'm always happy and confident in your forecasts M8. Also it's pretty evident that you truly care about people, something I've rarely seen in my 67 years. You're not just predicting the weather, you're warning us to take care. It's sincere and heartwarming and I'm grateful. *Pam* 😁

More than a 'wee bit of drizzle' from those severe storms. Harden NSW got slammed with a likely supercell this Monday morning... at 0600 before sunrise! At least the Misery Index is down, though I know that only takes into account abnormally hot and cold temperatures. Plenty of misery from storms and rain too- we are always dodging one or the other in NSW in the warmer months. Wish I could up sticks to NZ or Tassie for the three summer months!

@tomfromoz8527 10 сағат бұрын
A supercell = probable tornado so if you notice the sky turn green 👀 get low and shelter! These kind of ⛈ don't take prisoners. Beware of the invisible microburst 🌀 as they can snap metal and destroy a structure without even touching a single flower in your garden right next to it. 🌪 Pam Tom's wife
