Can I ask what oz leather you are planning to use? I looked at the link for the “complete list of used materials” to find out but the website is down. Idk if he mentions it in the videos or not but I haven’t watched them all yet either.

Your videos are awesome. And it’s because of you I buy from Weaver. Quesion: on the handle not too sure what lentght to make. I believe you said to the top of knife handle? How far down should end of handle go to attach to body?

First, this series convinced me I can make a decent sheath, so thank you for that. Trying to buy them was ridiculous. Quick question on the patter making: if you are making it on paper and the corners are hard to cut with a box knife, aren’t scissors an easier choice?

Hi Mark, Yes, you can absolutely use scissors for both the paper and the leather!

@WeaverLeatherSupply, I really like this series, and I’m going to use it for my G.C. Company stag handle bowie knife. The only thing is that I would very much like to have fringe along the blade side. Would you just add that in so you have 4 layers on that side (the lace being a thinner layer)? Or, would you skife that side of the back layer to help reduce thickness? Or is there another way? Thanks!

I've seen people glue hard plastic or wood inserts to the inside of the sheath so the blade doesn't cut it. Is there any worry about cutting the stitching when drawing the blade out over time on one like this?

Hi there, The leather welt that was added in the video will keep the blade from cutting through the stitching. Hope that helps!

So many different knife form-factors, its incredibly frustrating as a beginner to find aids to customizing a sheath. I would have liked this to have been a slower speed for focus on the customization pieces, inconvenient to have to start and stop to try to comprehend key info. Also including relevance to a couple other basic designs (taco, fold over etc.) would have been right what the Dr. ordered. Literally the only video I've seen just focused on the sheath customization part so thank you.

I see right handed knife and gun but I’m left handed so both left handed right?
@WeaverLeatherSupply5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if I'm reading the question right but the knife sheath and holster videos are both right handed so for left-handed you can just reverse the way I made the pattern. So for the knife, you can flip the blade the opposite way and for the holster, you can add the tooling on the opposite side of the leather from what I did. Let me know if that didn't answer your question!
@Texo_McKevo5 жыл бұрын
