Weaving a summer shawl - or how I choose the right sett for the yarn

I like that brown you used, but my favorites are all shades of purple, with greens, Or orange. Love watching as you explain what I'm seeing. A floor loom still feels far out of reach of my current skills. Keep making these videos. I watch and rewatch. Your voice is soothing.

Yes I love the technical side, where I live there are almost no weaver, spinner, fiber friends so I find them on you tube, your presentation is great and since I'm Fairley new to weaving the tech side is greatly appreciated! Thank you❤

I knew about half of what you were talking about, I think. So that was a good balance of mystery and intriguing curiosity, for me. Anything more technical and I think I would have been too lost. But as long as there are a few sheep in there and I can hear the lilt of your voice, I’ll probably watch anything. 😊

Those little chicks look so cozy in the shawls! My favorite color is by far purple. Because of my complexion, I lean more towards the warm purples, olives, teals, burgundy's, creams, and browns of fall. Bright yellows and oranges make me look orange! I love your blue and brown shawl. Denim blue with the chocolate brown and cream are all colors I use a lot. It's subtle, but lovely!

As for story vs technique, it kind of depends! If it's something that I'm wanting to learn right now, like darning or spinning, then I love to know the technique. But, I don't have a loom and so I'm not trying to learn that, and so I care more for the story than the technique. I like how you have a bit of both--that way, I can come back and watch your video when I need to learn how to do it, or when I'm trying to show someone how it can be done.

My favourite colour? If it's for clothes, it's reddish browns (terracotta, autumn leaves). If it's for home decoration I like to combine the terracotta with greenish-blues / blueish greens (turquoise, teal, jade, Caribbean Sea).

I am undeed interested in the technicalities 👀 (sorry, youtube omitted to tell me when this went up) I'm not a fan of yellow itself, but somehow that citrus combo of theirs is my favourite colourway. It's just so cheerful with the oranges and greens. Feels like holding a basket of fruit.

I love purples, blues with a hint of red, I think that’s why I wish to learn to spin my own yarn`😹I can never find that perfect colour combo, I’m already buying blank fabric so I can dye it myself, it’s a lot of fun mixing the powders together specially when some of the powders don’t dissolve fully, the fabric gets this lovely all over colour, but little specks of main colours are sprinkled throughout my fabric, at first I was not happy but as it gets closer to its main colour choice the specks give it that tweed look. Can not wait to try it out using different colour choices in the future.
