I don't usually cut and tie. This leads to crossed threads close to the end of weaving. Here's how I solve that issue.

Coming back a year later to say that I end up using this trick on every rigid heddle weaving project I do anymore and this had made weaving those last few inches bearable. Thank you so much for sharing.

This is GREAT! I've been wondering how to fix this. Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone! And thanks to the forgotten, mystery person who taught you.😉

That was great! I often put sticks behind to get the last of it, but not yarn. Excellent idea and execution, including bringing the heddle all the way back to clear the shed both times. Thank you :-)

That is BRILLIANT. I’ll try that on my next big loom project, when I’m near the end of that. In a few months time. Cheers

Great idea! I’ve used one of the cardboard separators - your method saves a lot of warp!

I do have a question; is this only done when you're at the end of the weave? Won't they cause problems though during the weaving process earlier on in the project? Or once you've threaded both the slots and holes and wound onto the front beam, then go all the way back to the back beam to do this? Am I making sense with this question?

They seem to be fine at the beginning of the weave, I only ever have troubles at the end. As you wind into the back beam they "order" themselves so by the time it's all wound everything is neat and tidy.

@@therogueweaver Okay, thanks Tammy. I'm going to try it today on your Christmas towels.
