Thank you for sharing this technique. It reminds me of doing pickup threads on an Inkle loom.

Since I was too lazy to try to figure out the tie-up, I purchased the pattern and measured off an eight-inch wide warp of 200 threads for practice. There was a bit of a learning curve over the first few inches of my piece, but now I'm in the swing of it and the design (my own) is starting to emerge. Since I'm weaving it on a table loom, I added an additional step which is very helpful in eliminating unwanted floats: reinserting the pickup stick in the shed before passing the shuttle through.

Pardon my question, as I am in the learning process... are you doing tabby, or is there a different sequence for the peddles?

No tie up so don't understand what shafts are being lifted on each of the four picks 😢

Such a shame you dont cover the tie up. As 1-4 is fine. But the treddle tie up is key

As she talks about 14 and 23, i would guess it is 12, 23, 34 and 14.

The basis of damask is alternating blocks of 1,3,2,4 raising shed satin stitch (direct tie up)and the same pattern upside down, 1'3'2'4 sinking shed satin stitch.

Duelling rabbits hand weaving has a good video of the structure of damask fabric done on a drawloom, so you can see what this creator's trying to accomplish with four shafts and pickup sticks.

I did work it out, but, it would have completed this video to include it

Hammer the end of the wire with a ball peen hammer on a steel block then file the now rounded edge with a metal file. That will finish it with a smooth edge that won’t cut you…. No need for tape to get stuck
