Sad to see hardley any comments to this post. I read so many comments of people complaining of how they wish Music today was like it was back then, when they have the chance to hear it, they don't listen. Have to remember, the reason music has changed, is because people have.

I used to hear him sing this song back in the early fifties. We had a tube radio and listened to wsm Nashville Tn. Sometimes we could pick up the Louisiana Hayride. I was young but loved his voice their was no such thing as rockinroll.

From 1951 to 1956, Webb Pierce was the top record selling singer in country music. The emergence of Elvis Presley hurt Pierce's sales immensely, but many country star's sales started declining because of the new rocknroll style of Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, and others. It took a few years for country music to recover in the U.S. with new "honky-tonkers" such as Buck Owens, George Jones, and even Ray Price getting exceptionally popular during the early 1960s, even though these performers had been around since the mid 1950s. Pierce had some success in the early 1960s, but he never fully recovered after that initial explosion of 50s rocknroll of Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Bill Haley, Fats Domino, and of course Presley.🎸

Made from 1952 into the '60's at various locations using a 35MM movie camera and shot in color, by Al Gannaway Productions. They were played on T.V., movie houses. They are available today. (hard to find). A very fine collection with over 120 performances by Grand Ole Opry Stars. Interesting to note Webb when he looks to his left, just above ceiling level, as he looks up. He sees hinself on a monitor.

I have been on the search for videos for years and so far I have only found 1 or 2 on KZbin with him in it. It would be mostly the wondering boys record songs he would be on
