Reporting in from California, taco heaven. I was surprised that you thought £4 (about $5) was a lot for a carnitas taco. Did a quick check of a handful of restaurants in my San Francisco suburb where we regularly buy tacos. The price for a carnitas taco ranged from $5-7. Price for a fish taco ranged from $6-8. If you were in SF proper, I bet you'd see a dollar or two more added to those amounts. So, a £4 taco seems like a reasonable price to me. I've had those tacos at Borough Market and thought they were fairly solid -- not the best ever, but pretty good for being in England and not Mexico. I've also had the strawberries and grudgingly have to agree they are also good.

Good day, Harrison! Prices here in the US cities for similar take-out or dine-in food are just as high as those in your London neighborhood. The price for Boston Kelly's lobster roll + a small bag of chips combo is now hitting north of $40 (£31.6). But it's worth it, since Kelly's does give you a lot of chunky lobster meat. (Also, frozen lobster tail can be had for $8 each at our local grocery store, so I can't complain that much.) In my defense for spending or buying food that I enjoy eating, I am well aware of food insecurity even in our own neck of the woods so I do conscientiously give food donations and money to our local food banks on a regular basis.

The food at brunch is amazing, and you wouldn't get anything for less (for the quality) in somewhere like a Daisy Green - another popular brunch spot in London. The rest of the menu, the food is fantastic. Just be a little tactful with what you order. If you get an okra fries, a keema Pau, a biryani, curry and bread between two it's gonna be £20 a head - that is NOT a lot of money for a central London restaurant as good as Dishoom.

From all these experiences i have realised one thing if the place is too famous then most probably it will be bad

Instead of Hefaure you should have gone to Fuwa Fuwa for the suffle pancakes, it’s near that place, get their original one for 7.50 and it’s the best thing in the universe. I’ve been there like hundred times and every time it’s made fresh on order, but you always wait around 15min

I tried the chicken shop when I was in London, worth it despite the wait! Very crispy and tasty. And has good bubble tea as well.

90% of my time when eating anything that TikTok has gone nuts over, I eat and im like "meh". People are so easily impressed now. Maybe my standards are high because I was raised on a farm with fressshhh food funnily enough apart from good friends chicken... that was legit nice

Can’t believe you stood outside the GINGER PIG and didn’t have the pork and Stilton sausage roll! Use to be £4.50 now £7.50 though!!! Epic.
