I have a 1974 mgb that I want to change to the dcoe 45 but new they are almost $1k.

you can find them on EBay for around $200 US, but you will still need a manifold, and I suggest you check my videos on Vapor lock. heat management was difficult until I replaced the Exhaust with a performance header Also, if you scroll down through the comments in this thread, AmericanPatriot2422 suggests Pierce Manifold in Gilroy CA for parts

Why not just use carb dip.

well, actually.... I had dipped it earlier, but I used the wrong stuff, and it melted one of the aluminum covers, (I chose not to record that) so when I got the replacement, I decided to manually clean it out. I suppose you can use dip, but that will not actually remove any particles, you will still need to flush it out, and give it a through inspection for clogs.
