Excellent video! Zaatar is pronounced like Zatter, with no hard 't' sound in the middle. Like 'butter'. It's sometimes used as a rub but more often eaten for breakfast with bread dipped in olive oil and then dipped straight into the Zaatar. It's also mixed with olive oil and then spread on mini rounds of dough and then baked to make mini Zaatar pizzas, called manakish! I'd be interested to see you make manakish on your grill!

Delicious, simple, and just right for my Weber. Might just go for wings and legs next time; should be finished even quicker. Thanks for the inspiration! Hi there. Loved your video! Thanks for sharing. I'm considering a Weber Q2200 for my small deck in the city. I'm in Montréal, Canada, so a warm hello from up north :) Do you think the Q2200 is worth the extra $$$ over the 1200 series? I used to live in the burbs and I had some serious barbecuing power there (Weber charcoal kettle, big propane grill...) so I want a small machine but that can handle a lot. All the best!
@GallaghersGrub7 жыл бұрын
Hello Canada! I've never tried the 2200, but it looks like the same grill as the 1200, just bigger. For an extra $50, if you have the space, I'd go for the bigger grill, especially if you're going to have parties. The 1200 is great though for my small family. And it's easier to take on the road. Thanks for watching!
@fredericaugustin75717 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply. Your recipes are amazing! Indeed the 2200 is bigger. I don't need so much space though. But I noticed the 2200 had a 12,000 btu/hour rating vs. 8,500 btu for the 1200 so I was wondering if that meant a greater searing power, but you seem to cook pretty much anything fast on the 1200... Plus the 2200 is $70 more in Canada (thanks to our weak dollar haha).
@STARLITER5 жыл бұрын
Frederic Augustin I am asking myself the same thing. Q1200 vs Q2200. The Q2200 is 30% bigger, and probably that’s why it needs 30% more gas power. After watching this channel I am more inclined to a Q1200. (and use an older charcoal for parties). On the other hand, will I ever take it someplace else? Probably not. Did you go for the baby Q or the medium Q?

Thank you, Saad. As the lemon heats up, it releases steam to keep the chicken breast moist from the inside. With a charcoal grill, yes you should add 5 or 6 charcoal brickets every hour or so.

@GallaghersGrub Жыл бұрын
I prefer smaller 4 lb organic chickens. Non-organic chickens tend to be larger, about 5-6 lbs. Big chickens seem a bit odd to me though. Are chickens really supposed to be that big? Not sure I trust all those growth hormones, so I stick to the smaller ones. But if you're feeding a big family, it can all come down to cost savings. I think a big chicken can fit in your Q1200, either way.

Sorry to read Weber has discontinued the roasting rack and shield. I bought a Q 2200 a year ago because our condo does not permit charcoal. I used to be good with ribs but have found the propane indirect grilling a real challenge. I am sorry Weber has chosen not to support their products. Thank god for the Fire Escape Griller. Kona Bob

Thank you, Kona Bob! It's definitely strange that Weber discontinued the rack and shield. Check out this video if you haven't already: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJOQmZuunreKfNE

Still being made in Australia purchase them for Christmas possible to get from eBay from here.
@peterrock56345 жыл бұрын
I can still get them in Australia. You can make a substitute shield with a few layers of aluminium foil (you need to poke a few holes to slow the heat through). Maybe a large cake cooling rack could substitute for the roasting rack? Regards, Peter

It doesn’t have to be a Weber rack; be resourceful.

No seasoning inside the chicken? What is the name, again, of the eastern seasoning?
@GallaghersGrub4 жыл бұрын
It's called za'atar. You can find it at Whole Foods. Cheers!

Weber no longer sells these racks in the U.S. market. You have to find a rack of similar size. I have a video on that.

DOSE of Poetry I've never tried the Q140, but seems like it should work. I'd say go for it.

Making this right now for Christmas dinner with a lemon inside, zataar and olive oil on the skin and garlic stuck into holes in the chicken. As for Beirut, I lived their for ten years as a kid, one of the best places to grow up in the world. Zataar on manaeesh, straight from a village bakery. Nothing better.

@GallaghersGrub6 жыл бұрын
My grill is the Q1200. It's an upgrade from the Q1000 adding side tables and a higher domed lid so you can fit bigger things like a whole chicken. The Q2000, Q2200 and Q3200 are more family size and less portable.

Oh where did you pick up the small weber roasting pan? can't seem to find them anywhere... i am able to find the roasting pan for the weber q2200 but not for the 1200. the silver pan you used under the rack in the rib video is the one i'm talking about. once again loved watching all your awesome recipe videos :) thanks!

It's called a Weber Small Roasting Shield (Model: 6561). I think Weber discontinued them right after I made this video. you can use a double layer of tin foil instead. This video shows you how: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6DKgWl-pbJ4aLs

Thanks for the video. The chicken looks very tasty. Next time, try making a marinade with garlic, olive oil, and tarragon. This mixture should be carefully placed under the skin of the chicken. It is incredibly delicious and juicy.
