To the people commenting why they didn’t win/why Netflix doesn’t highlight this team: Weber is a D1 school so they are in a separate category from the teams featured on “Cheer.” In addition to this, I think the creators of the documentary like to put more of their focus on community colleges. The people who created "Cheer" are the same people who created "Last Chance U" and they primarily put their focus on community colleges. Probably because it's important to emphasize and highlight talent from other levels besides a traditional four year school! This doesn’t diminish the insane work that Weber State does! They are the grand champs so they’re doing just fine :)

Hi thanks for the explanations. Could you explain how they made divisions/categories ? And if I understand, community colleges can compete with other community colleges but they can't with university ?
@loserlambrini64383 жыл бұрын
@@geraldinedehal6669 The divisions are based on the athletic conference that school is in!! and the categories are based on skill and size of teams. so for NCA School competitions…It’s Novice, Intermediate, & Advanced skill levels with the team sizes of Small (5 or less flyers) & Large (more than). Coed & All girl, of course. For example, Weber is a D1 school that has a consistent team of fulls with over 20 people on mat. the team has both Men & Women…That makes them an advanced large coed team competing division 1. Their NCA banner says “Advanced Large Coed 1” to further explain that. Since community colleges compete athletically in subdivisions on their own, NCA generalized their divisions & categories. Since the population of these colleges are generally small, they’re a small sized team by default. Community College cheer only had 1 division with 2 categories, Coed & All Girl. That’s why Community College can’t compete against Universities. It pretty much just follows the rules of the NCAA. it’s very confusing and takes some time understand especially since the rules are always changing but this is true to the 20-21 season. hope this helps!! :)

@@N0N4M30 Nope. Definitely from Europe. Seems like for some reason, you are the one who is having trouble admitting that you didn't know what you were talking about. As of now, Allstar gyms are the best way for someone to begin training and build experience as a cheerleader. Whether you live in the US or Europe, you'd be starting at the lower levels, like everyone else. No way you'd get into the roaster of a college team just like that, let alone a good one. European teams might not be quite completely on par with American teams yet, but chill out dude, you'd be starting as a beginner, like everyone else. The best European teams would still be too skilled for you until you suck it up and go through the required years of intense training. And only then, once you're among the best in the European cheerleading industry, you'd have a shot at being selected by an American college team. As of now, the only wannabe here is you.

fun fact!!! Half of the team on mat for Weber are from Trinity Valley, more specifically from the 19-20 team. which was the team featured on the first half of season 2 before Daytona got cancelled. There's different divisions in cheer too. So it's not them all competing against each other. Navarro and TVCC are in a completely different sub-group of cheer. Plus we haven't even got into all-girl cheer teams. And don't get me started on all-star cheer. There's way too many subdivisions and different cheer teams to really say that.
