Weber State cheer 2023 Grand National Champions

It started with seeing a bunch of videos showing Caylee Odle doing really great stunts. I admired her athleticism and decided to see what school she represents. Since then, I have been following Weber State for the last year as they progressed and checked out their past performances, too! This is one cohesive, determined and talented team. They deserved this win and step up to the D1A!!! Kudos! 👏💖🏆📣🤸‍♂️🤸‍♀️

As a 66 year old fat guy I have no idea why I get choked up over this. The trust thing is nothing short of incredible. These ladies are WAY too high in the air for safety without being caught. The dudes are beasts I bet most of these gals are 110. And these guys are catching them over their head with one hand. Congratulations people You rock

No way any of them are that big. I'm guessing 80-90. My wife was 5'2" 105 when we married and she wasn't as slim as these girls. Nevertheless, I would rather watch them then the football game. They have to be 15 feet off the ground on some of those throws. Being 61 I can always remember how strange it was for a guy to be a cheerleader. We had a name for those guys back then but I wouldn't call any of these guys a name, they are total beasts and very athletic.

Normally I don’t like most of the competition videos because they rarely show the athletes close enough to appreciate the routines. That definitely doesn’t apply here. Kudos to whoever did the editing. And even bigger kudos to these athletes. The skill and dedication really shines forth.

For context : in 2023 Weber state ( located in Ogden , Utah ) had just made the transition from division 1 ( with schools like Sacramento state) to division 1A with ( with schools like the dominance of Oklahoma state and Louisville ), the divisions are based on how many total students are enrolled in the school Division 1A: 100,000 students or more with at least a football and basketball team ( Oklahoma state , Louisville ) Division 1: 5000-20,000 with at least a basketball team ( Weber state , Sacramento state) Division 2: 5000 students with a baseball team ( Oklahoma Baptist ) Division 3: schools like champan college Junior colleges : Navarro , trinity valley ( where you get your associates degree )

@@yomi_jeremy3964 It goes by how many students are in the school in the general population ( not just the Cher teams which means division 1A is the biggest (10,000 students or more with a Masters , Bachelors and Associates or doctorate academic degree program ) division 1 ( 5000-10,000 students with at least a associates / masters and or bachelors program ) division 2 ( approximately 5000 students with at least a associates , masters and or / bachelors program) division 3 ( approximately 1000 with at least a associates degree program ) 2 year colleges like Navarro and Trinity valley ( in hindsight , Navarro and trinity valley are feeder schools to schools like Texas tech , Oklahoma and Weber state where you get your associate degree )

I was a Cheerleader for four years at Utah State fifty years ago, (yes, 50!!) I watch Cheer and Dance fairly often and I am so, so tired of Navaro!! I just caught your winning cheer and I have to admit to screaming a bit, the kind that girls my age only get to do for fat football players. I am not only proud that you are from my home state, I am proud of everyone one of you because I know. I have no idea how you do what you do, but I know where you pull the fire from. Watching this, just confirms what I know. You pull it from each other and it is beautiful. Congratulations to all of you and to they group, which, in the end, is one of the best parts.

High-level competitive cheerleading demands respect. The girls are tiny and lean, but all muscle. The guys have to be insanely, deceptively strong. No pads, no helmets, just grit and dogged determination, hearts of warriors. All the while, having smiles you couldn't knock off their faces with a sledgehammer.

This should officially be named and deemed to officially be a part of Gymnastics, If it isn't already. I dot really know anything about " Cheer" other than being a spectator, but it amazes me at the strength, skill and work that goes into it. It is quite impressive. As much money as these Universities make, I wonder. Any athletic scholarships for Cheer? Make it a conference sport like Gymnastics, or Football.

1:35 there is a kind of "chest hold" or "chest toss" how does a coach ask his/her athletes, "hey, it cool if he puts his hands on your t*ts?" in Hollywood they have liaisons that coordinate these things because it is an opportunity of problems to arise. that would be a weird ask. maybe the girls just know if they are going to be in this sport there is going to be some intimate touching.
