Chaos scans require a much better interface, other than that, they are quite handy. Corona 9 really sped up our workflow from eliminating using railclone as much, to procedural clouds. So thank you.

Thank you for the kind words! We are looking into and considering ways in which Scans can be made easier to access, so we'll see what can be done (we simplified the process already in Corona by including a button to open the Scans download page direct from inside the Scanned Mtl, but there is more improvement that can be done). nice additional info here, i loved the clouds and the pattern already but it was also nice to see the scatter trimmer shader, i wonder if the cutout (ttrimmed by the new shader)meshes also have proper alpha matte maps. Also the randomize UV by decals feature, not clear , is it like the decal helper defines where the randomization will occur? and anything of out the range of the decal widget, no texture randomization happens? Sounds like a an interesting feature that lacking some explanatory material....

Glad you liked the content! On the Edge Trimming, it works with existing alpha maps as there is a slot in the Edge Trimming to place additional alpha into (e.g. if you have the shape of a leaf in alpha), if I understand your question correctly. For UVW Randomization by Decal, it allows the randomization to take effect per decal (so that each decal receives different randomization to the UVW of the texture the decal is applying). This was a user requested feature, which was simple to implement so we added it. As for how it can be put to good use, we leave that to the users! Show us what you come up with using it ;) Thanks! i just checked, corona render has a bug with volume grid, when im trying to render any vdb, it casts wrong shadows when volume grid, which is a box, going through any object. I mean if the volume grid floating above plane, its ok, we getting good shadows.

Hi! The developers can't check KZbin comments - to let us know about a potential bug, please submit a ticket (support.chaos.com/requests/new ) or head to the forums where there are bug reporting sections for Max and C4D (forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php ). Whichever method is used to report the bug, please include the version of Corona, the version of the host software, and some example images or even scenes that demonstrate the issue so we can replicate it and get on to fixing it :) Thanks! Any future plans for a workable link between Quixel Bridge and Corona? Converting materials works, but not that well.

No plans on our side, but to me that does sound like it would be something to ask Quixel since they develop the Bridge. Tom

Not sure what's going on at chaos but someone has forgotten to add motion blur to the clouds when doing long shutter speeds a bit of a fail team.

Not forgotten, just the nature of how the clouds are rendered and how motion blur works. Also usually clouds don't move fast enough to show moblur even on long shutter speeds, I even searched for real photos with motion blurred clouds when the first user asked about this and did not find any :) Have to remember that clouds render fast due to how they are calculated, but this means since they are not "full geometry" like other things, then there are limitations which may or may not be able to be overcome in the future. Using VDBs and true volume materials would let you have motion blur (but longer render times, of course). Thanks! Tom

@@ChaosCorona hey Tom thanks for replying. Look up long exposure landscape photography. Motion blurred clouds is a classic look. If you do a long exposure for 30 sec or more that's the effect which can add motion and drama. If you head over to the forum's under cloud play I demonstrate this with a real photo. Really sucks that with the time-lapse effect you cant add a small amount. Long exposure effects in photography gives a lot of creative possibilities.

Very poor quality both of video resolution and tutorial technique: it is very difficult to see what instruments are selected and because of the speed and poor quality. It is useless.

Sorry you feel that way about the video - streaming is limiting in terms of the quality of resolution that comes out. However, this is not meant to be a tutorial, just an introduction to the tools and their end result rather than about using the tools themselves along with a chance to ask questions. For tutorials and learning the tools, seeing each parameter and what it does, we have high quality (non-streamed :) ) videos for that! Hope that helps! Tom

@@ChaosCorona Hi, it is not about the streaming quality but about the fact that I needed to rewind several times to catch the short moment in which you choose Corona Pattern Mod. It was almost impossible. About Chaos Corona ... you do an amazing job with Corona, amazing. The single small problem is about documentation which is veru difficult to find. The huge problem for me is about Phoenix: I simply can't set a medium complexity scene to see the fire effect on some logs despite the fact that the flames are visible in viewport. Yes, using last Corona and Phenix versions. I did make a request but the answer was poor and useless: something about the light in scene. Thanks and please do not be offended, you are making a great job.

Yes, the speed of the webinar is to go through things quick, again relying on tutorials to show it in a format that shows the steps slow enough to follow (if you find the tutorials too fast as well, though, do let us know!).
