Hi - that is somewhat tricky for all suppliers of flicker testers as no internationally recognized flicker calibration light sources exists. Viso supports a research project with prominent university parcipants that will start up soon - but that will not help in getting standards any time soon. In Viso Systems, we test against a special flickering light source that we know has a well-defined output in terms of flicker frequency and modulation pattern. Later this year, Viso will launch a special light source system designed for such a flickering output. The target audience would use it for research, flicker demonstrations and potentially also calibration. We generally recommend recalibration of our light measurement units every year (or minimum every other year), but that doesn't really apply to flicker testers. Partly because we are not measuring absolute values of light, and partly because standards are missing. Feel free to contact info@visosystems.com if you would like more information.
