Kira, this is a very general response, as it could apply very differently to your situation. But, in general, unemployment is determined at the state level and technically you could be eligible. However, most states say you must be "willing and able" to work. It wouldn't affect your disability retirement, but the disability retirement could affect the unemployment. How that helps clarify!

I have been out of work for almost 3 months now due to an injury i sustained last September after being involved in a no fault of my own motor vehicle accident. I have been given the run around with getting medical treatment. My supervisors forced me back into full duty when their doctor had me on lite duty work. I was finally approved to see a orthopedic doctor in May of this year after the USPS occupational health doctor submitted a referral back in December of 2019. I saw the Ortho doc in June. He in turn put me on lite duty again. My supervisors informed me that they didn't have any work for me to do in that status. I submitted my ca7 forms for pay and was in so many words denied. My question is, is there another way that I can get some money coming in such as unemployment or ssi?

If i was approved by unemployment office but denied from the employer, will i be compensated for the wages that were never paid to me...must i ensure that pay is included in any settlement offer?...thx in advance for any advice that you all may give.
